Hi, my mum left her affairs in the Public Trustee's hands and honestly I can't really fault them. Sure you have to pay money but when you think how much time you would have to devote to wind things up if they are even a little bit complicated, it's more time than most of us have. Most emails were answered and I insisted on meeting the Estate Manager. Probate was granted within 3 weeks even though it was Christmas and most of the funds in our bank account 4 weeks later. Then there was tidying up of share transfers and tax returns which took another couple of months. I am going to put my affairs with them as it's worth the non hassle and time spent trying to do it yourself unless it's very straightforward.

Just got off the line with a lady whose name escapes me. Even though she could not eventually solve my issue, she was polite, tried to be helpful, explained processes and suggested alternatives. Thanks.

The Public Trustee has managed my finances for the last 8 years. I found all three of my trust managers during this time to be kind, compassionate and professional. Temporary Managers while sick are sometimes rude though.
