My experience with IIT is great. The curriculum for the Diploma of Financial Planning is well written and their staff is pleasant and professional. Even as an experienced paraplanner, I was able to fill in some gaps in my knowledge and to better understand both the practical and legislative sides of financial planning. The financial planning areas are well covered in their books and clearly explained. It may be a struggle to find time to complete all the tasks but it is totally worth it.

A fantastic training provider! I’m just completing a cert 4 in mortgage broking and finance and my experience has been very positive. I’m now enrolling in further studies with IIT because I loved the workshop days and the lecturer has a fantastic , happy, ‘can do’ personality which makes students feel at ease and enthusiastic.
I would highly recommend studying with them for anybody looking for qualifications in the Financial Services Industry.
Winning 👍👍

The course has such a practical aspect to it which I have not encountered before; it never intentionally makes it harder than need to! The trainers are treating the students as intelligent people, and they always pull you up when you make a mistake or when you do not feel good! What a fantastic learning experience!

I have found all the staff at IIT to be very helpful and friendly. The lecturer has the ability to make you feel anything is achievable. I have studied with IIT for 2 years now and will continue to do so for a few more. They come highly recommend.

I absolutely love having the option to complete online and then go in for a face to face with any subjects I’m struggling on. IIT have been super helpful and have provided me with extensions with minimal cost. I have a lot of on the job experience, working with the needs and demands of clients, IIT is relevant to real working people, with the flexibility and simplicity to submitting assignments in a timeframe that is suitable to the demands of working full time and family commitments.

I would like to highly recommend IIT as I am very proud to have qualified through them. Friendly staff and their service and responses were very prompt and helpful all the time. I am so glad to select them as my course provider and will be happy to come back for further studies or recommend my friends and relatives to study through IIT. Thank you very much. If any one thinking about IIt as his / her course provider I would like to say don't be hesitate to go ahead with them.

I have learned so much from this institution. The training has definitely helped me develop my research, analytical and organization skills which could really help me in the financial planning practice. The manuals, modules, quizzes and the roleplays provided played an essential part of my learning, despite it being a distance learning. Thank you, IIT!

Wonderful experience at IIT while doing Certificate IV in Accounting. Experienced faculty and very detailed learning about the subject.

I followed the certificate IV and Diploma in Finance and Mortgage brokering. The positives are that the course delivery is excellent and the course materials are of good quality. The cons of choosing IIT when it comes to Mortgage brokering is that they do not provide any support or guidance when comes to obtaining Membership from Australia's peak mortgage association. Hence, students will have to spend much more time in completing MFAA case study. If you are trying to get qualifications in Mortgage brokering and you need it fast, your better off opting for a MFAA preferred training provider.

Before i begin my review i will note that i have studied online through various institutions so feel i have other experience of distance education that is relevant to my review here.

Pro of studying through these guys:
- Its cost effective and i was lucky enough to get an extra government grant as well (in comparison my diplomas i have completed previously with another organisation were alot higher than IIT full course cost)
- They offer self paced.
- The learner guides are relatively informative in most areas.
- They offer some free face to face help sessions (i have not used one, so cannot vouch for quality of help) However if you are the type of person that likes face to face support, its a good option.
- They gave me easy access to an extension at a time when i needed it the most. I had done most of my coursework but i was struggling to get it written up due to additional workload from covering a vacant role in my workplace in another department for a number of months.

Cons:
- The questions in many cases do not allow the learner to apply real life experience to their answers. For example with other providers you can usually use assignments as real life learning experiences in the workplace and apply the skills you are learning to solve real workplace issues AS WELL as complete further study. IIT setup does not allow much of this, which is quite dissapointing.
- My experience of their support/access to tutors wasn't great. For example i sought help on a few assignments early on in the process and mostly either got non response or an email with some dates i could attend a face to face class. As someone that lives a significant way from their office its simply not practical to attend a face to face session, in fact this is the reason i utilise correspondence / online training to improve my skills. Other providers have group and individual phone help options that you can readily book as well as tutors that will respond to emails. This makes far more sense for the way the course is delivered. If this is the ONLY real option to get real assistance, it needs to be made clear before signing up. I've previously completed 6 different sets of online study (certificates right through to diplomas) and all had simple access to tutors over the phone, email and forums)
- The course is HEAVILY finance based with no option to adjust some of these subjects to something more relevant. Now i signed up to this course with some awareness of this, but did not understand how much until i physically started. They would benefit i think by having options to swap out a subject or 2 (like an elective) to give some flexibility to adjust.
- In my experience, they don't really do anything other than send an email every few months to remind you to submit assignments. Previous study providers all actively work to engage learners and don't just use bulk mail merges as the single way to keep in touch. Again though, low cost, so you get what you pay for. In fairness they did ask if i needed help at one stage which i said no to as the only help option they had was face to face, which doesn't work for me. In additional to this i had some work stress at the time that was taking a priority.

Be prepared to get your own help externally if you are truly distant from their office or have work or family life that doesn't allow for easy access to their workshop sessions. For example when i needed some help with one of the subjects i ended up sourcing help through an accountant i worked with at the time and paying him for time just to get it done.

Tried to get a refund they just turned around and told me it's all my fault why I'm not getting support, and that everyone else can complete the Diploma easily. Would not recommend studying through them.
