Colac Botanic Gardens

A serene space to meander through and take in the beauty and energy of nature that overlooks Lake Colac. The gardens are very well maintained with many spots to sit and relax. Theres a cafe, toilets and a playground for kids of all ages😉. My only suggestion would be to stop cars driving through as many drove too fast and most likely didn't get to enjoy what was on offer and plus its a safety issue. There's plenty of parking outside so maybe restrict the access to walking only. Definitely worth a visit. 👍😊

Beautiful place to chill out. Was lucky to see those grey headed flying fox. From melbourne city drive about 2 hrs

Beautifully kept gardens, by Lake Colac. Close to main shops. I came on a very hot day to enjoy my lunch break. The hot northerly wind cools downs slightly over the lake, so sitting on the lawns in the shade was refreshing. There are plenty of benches, BBQs, picnic tables, playgrounds, public toilets and great views of the lake. Also, plenty of bird life. You can drive around the gardens and park right where you want to stop for a rest or picnic. My favourite stop in Colac.

I love taking a walk to see All the lovely Trees and Flowers...Hearing the Bats just makes it extra Special to me...A nice walk along the Foreshore, hopefully seeing a Pelican or 2 it feels so Peaceful and Relaxing.

Bit of a hidden gem this place, I've lived near Colac for years and only been here a few times. It's a bit different to other Botanical gardens in that you can drive round it in your car. There's a kids playground at the far end, a terrific cafe near the entrance and brilliant views across lake Colac.

Beautiful park next to colac lake, lots of birds here, and it can be windy

A peaceful, well maintained garden by the lake. We got food from Woolworths and made a picnic among the trees. A bit damp but relaxing to watch the leaves drift down in the wind. Don't touch the bats. You run the risk of being bitten and contracting Lyssavirus. Free entry. There is a cafe next to the gardens too.

Amazing place. very neat and clean, have enough parking space. Also have a nearby cafe, good bike+walking lane around the lake.

There a nice round trip walk and a playground at one one the park is alway open to walk in but closes to cars at certain times

Very quite and nice lake side garden. Has a small kids play area too. Lots of parking space.

Great trees and view of the Colac lake. Peaceful, Tranquility and occasionally sounds from the birds.

This is a beautiful relaxed nature loving place to walk, picnic, go on the lake great for all the family.

Came here on a nice sunny day. Saw people fishing down at the beach, people walking their dogs on leashes Nd picnic tables were available too.

Great views of the lake. What’s that noise - oh, it’s only hundreds of bats in the trees. Amazing sight!

Great place to pitstop enroute to the Otways or 12 Apostles, or spend a day picnicking and taking in the views with the family
