Rajarani Indian Restaurant

We visited Rajarani Indian Restaurant last night during our Mudgee stay. We did not have a booking and they were fully booked out as they were preparing for a party of 22. Yet they made room for our party of 4. The service was so quick and the food was delicious. We will definitely visit again next time we are in Mudgee.

Unlike many Indian restaurants in regional NSW the family that run this place put real passion and soul into the cooking. No 2 curries taste the same, the flavour is incredible and the portions are very generous for the price. Highly recommend the fish curry

We so enjoyed our meal tonight. Went home very satisfied.
We had the Rajarani Banquet for 2 you choose 4 curries, your naan bread plus you get papaddams with different accompaniments & mixed entree.
The mix we had was amazing and for $42.90 ea (this includes 1 beer & 2 glasses of wine 🍷) we couldn't have asked for more.

The food had such a beautiful flavour, samosas, butter chicken and cheese naan I definitely recommend

I'm amazed at some of the reviews for this small restaurant, the food was excellent. It was different to what you find in typical Indian Restaurants in Australia, it was lovely and light and the meat was mouth wateringly tender. The rice and naan breads were also delicious. The banquet which was even available for two people, was exceptional value and provided an opportunity for us to try a number of different dishes of our choice. It also came with a mixed entree and naan breads. All of this was for only $29.90 per person was excellent.
We will certainly visit again when in Mudgee, a fabulous find!

After a long tiring day we felt like spoiling ourselves & ordering 'comfort' food from Rajarani. Just time to shower, change into comfy clothes & set up plates & a friendly gent rang our doorbell! It was encased in a box & soo lovely & hot! OMG the aromas that came forth when opening the containers were intoxicating! Also, a big plus is 'complimentary' fluffy, beautiful saffron rice with Main dishes! My hubby is a Coeliac so is spoiled for choice with Indian food, everything is gluten free except the breads/desserts? We ordered Tikki lababdar (butter chicken), Mango chicken, Rogan Josh & two Vegetable curries. The chicken dishes & vegetable curry were lusciously creamy with beautiful aromas & soo tasty 😋 😋 The rogan Josh melted in your mouth with it's own delicious sauce! I ordered Mutami naan (sesame seeds) new to me ... it is a crisp, delicious accompaniment to the creamy sauces.

Quick service, very very authentic Indian dishes, great taste and pleasant staff. The only Indian restaurant we found in Mudgee and the best. All dishes with less oil indeed. 🙂 the curries come with rice and the price is reasonable.

Don’t know why their rating is only 3.8 stars - they deserve better. We just had the most delicious goat and malai kofta. Highly recommended!

Great Indian Restaurant.

Picked up amazing Indian food

Super confused with all the bad reviews. The place was wonderful and some of the best indian I have ever had. The curries were packed with flavour and the rice was super good too. The naans were crunchy but also soft. If u haven't tried this place I would highly recommend. One of the best restaurants in Mudgee by far.

Great curry and yummy Naan

Yes yes and yes... This indian was so good, great flavours and every meal came out hot. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant... I eat a lot of Indian food and this is one of the best I have eaten..

Very Great. Amazing experience. Would recommend the butter chicken and goat curry with garlic naan. Another great thing is that the rice comes for free with each curry unlike other indian restaurants. Great value for money.
