Stayed at Marree overnight last week en route to Coober Pedy with an Outback Spirit tour. Walked around town...5 minutes...but visited the Lake Eyre Yacht Club. What a treat! Bob gave a great talk on the history of the Club, with excellent slide show, and spoke of all his incredible adventures sailing on Lake Eyre & various desert lakes when in flood. Also, interesting information on the bird & fish life of the Lake. Thanks, Bob, and keep on enjoying your adventures!!

Great tall from the commodore about the history of the club and stories of their regattas. Well worth a stop if theyre open when you visit.

Enjoyable place to visit, a yacht club that holds events on a dry lake! They have had a regatta recently because the lake has some water in it. Good collections of photos.

Great place to check out. The club members are very knowledgeable and are very helpful.

They have some absolutely stunning photos and great souvenirs.

The place seemed to be having quite a bit of junk and needed a tidy up.

Marree probably has more interesting attractions per capita than any other Australian town.

On a scenic flight over Lake Eyre the pilot flew past a Cessna 210 which had crashed in the riverbed because the pilot attempted to fly below sea level, upon visiting the Yacht Club I was able to learn more about it
