Capital Chemist Charnwood

This is a very accessible chemist shop, especially for someone using a wheelchair, a walker or a scooter. Unlike many other pharmacies in West Belconnen, which are small, narrow & cluttered, there is plenty of room to move here. Plus, large signs up high clearly explain the logical layout of the store to someone coming here for the first time. A very well thought-out shop fitout, especially for someone with reduced mobility or lower vision. Plus plenty of staff to lend a hand.

When you need advice rather than a prescription, the pharmacists here are as good as a GP (and much cheaper/easier to get an appointment with)

Went here a few weeks ago, staff were very friendly and opening hours ensured I could get my OTC meds later into the evening.

I have had several serious health issues for a couple of years and if it wasn't for Samantha and all the lovely staff I would have had so much more trouble. Samantha especially has gone utterly well out of her way numerous times to help me, even speaking with others on my behalf to help me as much as she possibly can. I am forever grateful.
Sure sometimes there are slight mix ups and waiting times but we are all just human and the fact they try their best and apologise for any trouble and do it with a smile speaks for itself. I am always grateful to visit such a wonderful, community driven and caring chemist.

Have had a few excellent experiences with this pharmacy and will go out of my way to visit them. Their delivery service saved our bums with a sick baby and a broken down car, they stock the allergy formula we need and often have it when it’s sold out elsewhere, the staff gave my wife and I completely painless COVID jabs, I could go on. The staff have always been lovely, knowledgeable and patient, even when the store is busy. There’s seemingly nothing they can’t do. Highly recommended!

Unbelievable. Had a pricing issue and it was solved within minutes. Professional and genuinely nice human beings. So happy to have found a great pharmacy. When you are elderly and have a lot of chronic illnesses it’s really important!

Charnwood Chemist is excellent. Staff are very helpful and very polite. Special requests are taken seriously and they will do all they can to provide the products. Scripts are always spot on. Timely home delivery during the pandemic has been a godsend. Sincere thanks to everyone there.

Sent them a message via the website in a pinch asking for same day delivery for due to my partner’s worsening covid symptoms. They called me shortly after, and the service provider I spoke with was very helpful in steering me towards the best medicines for my partner’s symptoms, which were complementary to and in agreement with our GP’s recommendations. Was able to quickly and easily get my order sorted and paid for over the phone, which was a great relief for me and my sick partner. Thank you for helping us out so promptly!

This place is awesome! Efficient, reliable, lovely and friendly staff, and fairly priced. They always have stock when other places don't (including the high demand stuff like penicillin, Novalac, dymadon...) and they're always going above and beyond to help in any way they can't. My favourite chemist in Canberra.

This chemist is so important in the community. It’s a place of safety and respect. The pharmacists and staff are approachable, highly trained and genuinely care.
