I know nothing about mining so seeing the Headframe and other gear saved and on show was great.
There’s plenty of information boards here, and actually all over the town. No shortage of heritage To be had.
Conveniently it’s located opposite the Information Centre and the RV Dumpsite and water is in the car park.
Nicely there is adequate parking for caravans.
Yet again I found another piece of machinery made in my home town of Birmingham, UK on display.

Really interesting actual head frame used in a mine. Quite a bit of information around the site, and it's very close to the Visitor Information Centre. You can walk around the head frame and there's various mine equipment around the site. You can walk up the stairs to the platform at the bottom but no further.

Wooden headframe originally used in mining in Broken Hill over a century ago. Helping imagine tough life and work in the mines at the time. Should take around 20 minutes to look around

The Kintore headframe doesn't look all that flash but is a genuine, original headframe from Broken Hill's early mining days. It was originally situated in a small open cut in the central parts of the main Broken Hill lode where the Sulphide Corporation was working. It was to be buried or destroyed by reclamation mining in the 1980's but its heritage value was recognised and it was moved and reassembled near the Tourist office.
