Avisford Nature Reserve

Beautiful spot for a hike or a run. Picnics here are good too. And birdwatching. Plenty of wildlife too, kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas. Heaps of trees as well of many types, most of which are very tree like. Nice fire trails to use, a bit steep in parts, but nothing major. You should just go now.

Impossible to find, unless you ask a local, (tip) use reservoir road to find the entrance.
Once in there you will find a wonderful array of wild leaves and twigs, fallen branches and termite mounds.
There was a kangaroo but I think he had escaped from the paddock up the road.
Look out for the 2 parrots talking in the tree and listen to the kookaburra sounds being transmitted across the valley from the tannoys on the far side while you walk up a winding path to nowhere.
Remember what goes up must come down, and always wear a raincoat incase it rains.

A good place for walking, trail running and MTB riding. Dogs, horses and motor bikes are not permitted.

Quiet, calm and fresh air. Perfect.

Absolute waste of time. Took my son out for a bush walk. We followed the directions and ended up on private property. Took an alternate route, again ended up on another private property. Tried another alternate route, and again ended up on another private property. We gave up in frustration. Wasted 1.5hrs

Impossible to get into without a four-wheel drive, government unregulated man made speed bumps will scrape the bottom of most two-wheel drives. Waste of time getting to.
