An amazing selection of homewares, art, pottery, gifts and more. I purchased the most beautiful reclaimed Australian timber pepper mill and a divine lemon myrtle soy candle. Will be back for sure.

Simply the most beautiful and different home items ever. The pottery is beautiful whether sourced locally or handpicked in Japan and the rest of it is just as unique. I have a set of salt and pepper mills based on Turkish coffee grinders that I love almost more than life itself now! Staff are super nice and know the stock well. Walk past sometime and scope the window, it's like an art gallery. I come here whenever I need something special for a gift. BEST housewarming gifts ever. Saved my butt before Mother's day more than once... yeah, i'm baaaaad with dates.

Interior designer utopia
From the moment you enter through the front door of The DEA store you are welcomed by an explosion of wonder, curated art pieces, kitchen must haves, divine hand crafted ceramic plates, platters, and bowls for every occasion. Hand carved timber spoons, Tom Dixon glassware, a treasure trove of bespoke local and international artisans, makers, and producers.
The staff are incredibly helpful attentive and knowledgeable.
Number one favourite store in Sydney, nothing comes close
Big congrats on the new store in East Redfern but my favourite will always be west Redfern
Thank you for filling my home with incredible beauty and joy 5 stars all the way

This place is THE BEST. Every item is simply exquisite. We purchased this pepper mill last year. Each mill is a one-of-a-kind, made from old fence posts by a former-DEA Agent who retired and relocated to rural NSW to make these statement pieces. The size doesn’t really change the pepper itself, but it’s incredibly satisfying to use and it looks great on the dining table!

what a treasure trove of amazing quality items - they certainly do their research and the staff are so informative and friendly.
Highly recommend

I’ve been going to The DEA Store for years & have been fortunate enough to collect some magnificent (mostly ceramics) pieces of art ware, both for my home & for gifts for others. Karin has an incredible gift for spotting both Australian & Japanese talent, supporting both emerging & established artists. To have so many magnificent pieces in one place is incredible. It’s like visiting a unique gallery in the heart of Redfern. It brings me such deep joy! Karin, thank you for introducing me to some fabulous artists! Tim a Taylor is one in a million!

Everything your heart desires in a small and magical space. Beautiful and useful goods for the home, including the most well-curated gathering of handmade ceramics from Japan and Australia.

I absolutely adore The DEA Store!
If only I could move in, to always be surrounded by all the beautiful pieces Karin has on offer!
There is truly something for everyone. It is my one stop shop for any gift and I love the complimentary wrapping provided. I always leave with something for myself too, but I wish I could purchase every piece.
Shopping here is a truly sensory experience with so many things to smell, touch and admire. It is always a pleasure and I couldn't recommend the store more highly.

DEA store is my absolute favourite shop!
I first visited soon after they opened for business, and now look forward to the ritual of visiting periodically to enjoy all the treasures.
It’s the place to find the perfect gift, but I also rarely leave without something for myself as there really is just about something for everyone. Highly recommend!

A carefully curated gallery, the perfect place to buy artist-made gifts for loved ones and self. Both stores are unique and well worth a visit.

The only store I shop at in Sydney.
Incredible ceramics and artworks by local and international artists as well as one off beautiful homewares.
Karin and her team also offer the best customer service, including personal recommendations . A+++

Carefully curated, this store has the best collection for getting something special for yourself or loved ones. Each store has their own uniqueness, so I'd recommend checking East and West stores!

Easily my favourite store in Sydney. The Japanese and Australian ceramics are the stars, but Karin has an eye for all sorts of interesting homewares.
Visiting is always a delight, and there's a lot more in the store than is shown on the website.

My favourite store ever! Karin is wonderful, always so welcoming and is very passionate about all the beautiful products in her store. All of the highest quality. We recently had our wedding registry with them and it was a dream! Could not recommend enough!!

This shop is the most wonderful ode to utilitarian beauty. The DEA Store (which stands for ‘Delicate Eye Area’) sources objects for the home and kitchen based on the art of craftsmanship. Their selection is witty, playful and big on Japanese ceramics. You will also find some beautiful pieces of art- from paintings to small sculptures and one of a kind objects - like the whimsical ‘totems’ by local artist Michelle Connolly currently at the shop.

so lucky to have such an exquisite design store in my neighbourhood. Each piece is so thoughtfully selected & curated. Karen is so lovely to chat too & shares so much knowledge of her love of Japan. I always find the perfect gift and its wrapped beautifully every time

One of the most interesting shops Ive ever been to. The stock is immaculately curated including home wear and art. A lot of the items are imported from Japan so its full of items you cant get anywhere else! I chatted with the owner of the store and she showed me all the items she gets from Japanese artists. I would definitely recommend this store if you're looking for quirky goods for your home and even gifts. I bought kiwi flavoured toothpaste from japan which is just one example of the interesting items she sells. The woman who owns the shop is such a gem and I cant wait to go back. Great for dish wear, gifts, home wear, jewelry etc

Went to find gift for my parents. I was surprised to see a huge range of unique pieces. I was served by a lovely lady. Bought beautiful ceramic pieces, and my parents loved them!

One of those rare shops that stock items that are high quality, unique, beautiful, AND practical. I can rely on finding great gifts there, which saves me a lot of time and hassle. Of course I often end up buying stuff for myself too. 😊
The owners have impeccable taste.
