Great selection of anything you need for your pottery, all items meticulously priced, lovely service. I wasn't aware that for quantities above 1 kg of raw materials it was advisable to call beforehand, as they are not kept on the shelf, but it got sorted out for me on the spot. Absolutely fantastic!

I feel really lucky to have Blackwattle so close by. They have a wide range of well priced products. Some of their own branded clay and glazes are my favourites. Their terracotta clay is lovely to throw with.

I have been using Blackwattle as my primary clay supplier for a number of years now and have never had any problems with the quality, always the best I have found. The service here, in particular from Amanda and Margaret, is always top notch, they really do go above and beyond. I would recommend Blackwattle to both professional and hobby ceramicists and potters.

My first visit to Blackwattle pottery supplies today. Very impressed indeed. John was very friendly and helpful, and the clay I buy was $6 dollars, that's right SIX dollars a bag cheaper than I have been paying for years! Needless to say, I will be buying my pottery supplies from here for now on. Blackwattle have been around for many, many years, so glad I have now found them! It was worth my 3.5 hour round trip to buy my clay and glaze supplies.

We have been buying from and dealing with Blackwattle Pottery Supplies for more than 20 years, firstly with the University of NSW Pottery Studio and now 'claypool'. Due to the excellent service and helpful nature of John and his son Michael I have never had the need to look elsewhere. Blackwattle have available a huge range of clay, ingredients, utensils etc. and a wonderful delivery service - I am extremely happy with this company and would definitely recommend it.

I now get my supplies at Black Wattle Clay,because of the excellent services John provides, being thoughtful,helpful, and generous (So lovely reading the review, donated clay for breast cancer). Being served by John and his expertise's , questions about the products/materials he is on to it (your not getting served by some rookie ) John knows his stuff,a product tutor.
I have been ordering small orders for the last few weeks,John has kindly sent them off to me that day,even if it is just a couple of cones,I am shore he is busy as a beaver building a dam,and still, he gives a dam about his clients being me and getting my order the next day. It is such a luxury.
I also found that John will not flog of his own brands over others,he serves to your needs,even though I have found the black wattle produces good,and looking forward to trying more,particularity the clay bodies as I find the paper clay the best I have ever used.
And just one more thing John is a big supporter of ceramic education and has been for years.Thanks John,I remember you from the Tafe days with Alan Peascod,and the superfine earthenware you made for our class,commissioned by Alan for lustre ware.

Over this time any complaints have been dealt with fairly and respectfully. Blackwattle's prices are always competitive and often the best price. I buy lots of stoneware paper clay for my kids classes and it always in great condition, double wrapped, and very nice to use. They deliver the next day and are very reliable.

Great range and service.

I am a Potter and High School Art teacher on the far South Coast of N.S.W. and early in the year I publicized (via a Ceramics Forum) that I planned to make 200 "bra and boob "bowls to raise money for breast cancer and could anyone help in any way. I preferred to use Backwattle paper clay and Earthenware so I contacted "John" at Blackwattle and he happily offered to donate whatever clay I needed. Not ONLY did he supply the clay for free but he also arranged free delivery to my house 370 klms away!!! I would like to thank John publicly and say how grateful I am. The bowls are all made now with the potential to raise over $2,000 for this cause. I love the Blackwattle clays and will continue to use them both at home and at school. Thank you so much John!
