In my experience this school has been a beacon of light for myself and 3 of my children who were unable to successfully attend main stream school due to suffering autism, depression..ptsd, depression and ptsd, anxiety respectively. They are genuine, caring, professional, purposeful and solely focused the wellbeing of the students. Alta1 has gone above and beyond my expectations in many ways and I am very grateful that they exist. They have a several options for students to engage in education. They really care about the wellness of the whole family and have made a very positive impact in my family's life. I'm very grateful.

Absolutely recommend this Schooling style Alta-1 has been a God send in the recovery of my sons transition from being bullied previously in main stream schooling it’s absolutely wonderful to watch him grow in confidence and engaging and enjoying life and wanting to now go to school everyday.
The school teachers go above and beyond and genuinely care for the wellbeing of the young adults and bring out their best. So grateful and happy that this School in Qld has assisted in bringing Joy to going to school in a safe happy environment with wonderful values . We were previously at a crisis point where the main stream system previously failed Alta -1 has been life changing

I have worked for many companies, but Alta-1 College, by far, looks after the staff, and deeply cares for the wellbeing of its students. Staff engage in weekly trainings that make us highly qualified in academia, mental health, student wellbeing and class management. The chaplains are the unsung heroes that really are invested and want the best for their students. If you are a parent and want a place that will look after your most valuable treasure - your child - then this is the place.

I would recommend Alta-1 to any child & parent who for whatever reason requires more than a mainstream education setting can give. The level of care given is above and beyond anything we have experienced. Professional, friendly and diverse - I am not surprised at the rate at which this style of education is growing - matching the changing needs of our future generation giving a sense of belonging and a gift of a tribe. The ability to meet each child where they are at and assisting their recovery.

My daughter was not keeping up with the school work at her old school and was having issues at the school where she was going and her attendance was basically non -existent. Even after I spoke to her teachers and the year head she was still not happy there. That's when I researched alternative education and found the Alta-1 website. I rang the office and within three weeks she had her intake interview and was accepted to the girls campus in Joondalup, the transformation was almost immediate, she had friends that she wanted to 'hangout' with on weekends and after school, she WANTED to go to school and was able to keep up with the work load. She now goes to Alta-1 in Cockburn and has made new friends there. she is able to keep up with the work load and has a positive attitude towards the teachers, other students and a bright outlook for her future. She hoping to finish both year and 11 &12 by the end of next year (2020).

I'm so pleased with ALTA 1. Very caring and supportive. It's the way of the future in schooling. No bullying. What a breath of fresh air.

Staff are friendly, caring & approachable.
Staff all do their utmost to involve all in the care & education of the individual student as well as the classroom as a whole. It's a safe place.

My Son attended Alta 1 for over 3 years and purely stayed there because of lack of alternatives in Albany. The ideas behind the school are good but the implementation of these ideas, was mostly wrong. These are young teenagers, not young children, therefore they needed to be treated accordingly. In my Son's opinion it felt like a babysitting service because they often played games suited to young children and the curriculum offered was similar. They needed structure and to be taught to show respect, it's good to have some banter between staff and students, but often I saw students mocking staff and crossing the lines, between fun and respect. I bought this up with the local Principal, but his methods and attitude is another whole story, I'm not prepared to get into. Thankfully there is another care school that's just opened up in our area, and they have the right idea and foundation's to succeed

A warning to parents who are considering enrolling their child at Alta1... be aware that if you have a disengaged child with behaviour, social & or emotional struggles, sending them to alta1 will not help, but enhance the issues your child already struggles with.

Infact my daughter came away from there with a list of new problems! She was sadly also a victim of bullying and assaulted by a student. But the worst of it all was the inappropriate interactions she had forced apon her by one of the male teachers. Google policies won't allow me to go into detail but im sure you can imagine !

After almost 3 years, the lack of curriculum meant that she also failed year 10. The majority of her time there was spent playing games watching movies and working for the church in volunteer positions such as soup kitchens etc.
The teachers and other staff are judgemental and extremely rude.

They are oriented to the success of their church, not the children and caused my daughter to experience trauma and live with damage that can never be undone.

The fact that the education department approves this place is of great concern.

An audit and monitoring is an absolute must, but the only way to save your child from the harm this school may cause is to avoid it at all costs!

Comments from the principal /head teacher were made to a parent telling them their child would be better off without another student who left because they were being bullied. Nothing was done to stop said bullying.
Great way to support your students.

To call this a “care” school is extremely inaccurate.
The teachers and principal in the connect Ed program are unprofessional, judgemental and dishonest.
They use abusive bullying techniques to try to “manage” people and/or even mild situations.
It’s a very toxic and unsupportive environment.
I would not recommend putting your child in this school.
The school appears to operate without any accountability or morale compass.
