Ermington Veterinary Surgery

We have been using Ermington Vet for decades with many different animals. Marcel and his team are always so kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and professional. I’ve always found they do their absolute best to make things affordable. They really do care so much about the animals that come into their care. Forever thankful to Marcel and his team for caring so exceptionally for our animals and also for providing us with the best information they can and explaining everything so clearly.

Best vet ever! I have 2 large dogs (one young and the other old) and a cranky old cat who doesn't like people, with the exception of Dr M!!! Not only does our vet look at whatever is presented, he looks at the whole animal too. He takes his time, is personable and treats us as if we were his only clients! And afterwards... the bill... very affordable. In fact, sinfully cheap! I wouldn't go anywhere else and highly recommend that neither do you!

I cannot thank this most wonderful, caring and highly efficient Vet- Marcel for looking after my many pets and rescues over the years-since 1999 in fact. His equally amazing, compassionate and wonderful Vet nurses Jessica and Rebecca have given me and my many pets the highest care always. Marcel and his team at Ermington Vet are amazing.
About 1-2 months ago, We found an injured Kitten in our front garden. She had trauma to her face, eyes and lungs. She was struggling ridiculously, I called Marcel and took her immediately to see him. We arrived at his vet and he looked her over. She was a stray and was quite feral; hissing and trying to claw and bite Marcel. He handled her so gently and really made an effort to ensure she was not traumatised. Marcel assessed her and stated that in order to save her eye he needed to keep her in and really monitor her whilst giving her antibiotics/ pain relief etc. Marcel looked after for over a week giving her everything that she needed as we wanted to keep her. She was a stray but we wanted to keep her but also did want her to suffer. Her name is Sophia, she is now a 5 months old happy and playful kitten. Marcel really cared for her and when it came to the cost he did not charge anything near what he should have. Marcel is such a passionate man and I honestly could not fault him in any of the cares that he has provided for Sophia or any of our other animals we have brought to him. Bonus of all this is that Sophia still has 2 beautiful eyes Thanks to Marcel. Thank you again Marcel for the care you have provided Sophia with, we are so grateful for you and Sophia !

So friendly and calming, I called to get my mum's old cat with cat flu looked at and they fit me in ASAP, and also loaned me a cat carrier to bring her in. The cost came in way under what we were expecting too (for consultation, medication, penicillin injection). 5 stars.

Marcel and the team at Ermington Vet went above and beyond. Knowing how anxious I was for my dogs procedure, Marcel and the team kept me updated throughout the whole process. I was more than comfortable to leave Zandi in there capable hands… I couldn’t recommend the team enough!

Very happy with this practice! So far everyone we’ve spoken to, from doctors to reception staff, were lovely 🙌🏽 Taking good care of our cat and responding to his health concerns in a rapid manner.

My son’s family is overseas with work and moving back interstate. We needed a form filled out fairly urgently to get his dog back into the country and this vet clinic was helpful, friendly, quick and efficient. Very highly recommended - special thanks to Callum :)

Went to check if need dental clean for my cat. After checking teeth and heart, the doctor told me the teeth condition was good and charged me nothing. Very professional and thoughtful. Will definitely come here again.

Marcel is the best vet. We've been going to him for years, helped our dog through his diabetic journey. Always going above and beyond.

Marcel and his staff are wonderful caring people, my "go to vet" now.
Your furry pet or other type of pet receive first class treatment.
They always show care and empathy and are very reasonably priced.

Marcel also supports cat rescue which is wonderful, there is a cattery out the back.

I've been to a few vets for my cats, but honestly, the experience of taking my sick cat to Ermington Vet was great. It was a time we were highly stressed and anxious, and the whole experience was very reassuring. You are in good hands if you take your beloved family member here as their regular doctor. We will definitely be back for all our future cat needs.

Dr Marcel Vel is a truly exceptional veterinary surgeon with a ‘palpable’ love for animals. He is so compassionate and kind to our cats and dogs (our youngest pup literally runs to the front door of his surgery to see him, despite having been quite ill on a couple of occasions … she lights up when she sees him) and his veterinary knowledge is second to none that we are aware of.
He is honest with his pricing and he’s respectful of owner’s wishes for their pets. He genuinely cares for our pet’s welfare and is always interested to see progress in a follow-up visit.
We understood that during the thick of COVID times, and with governmentally enforced restrictions, we weren’t always allowed to be in the treatment room with our pets (which bothered some other reviewers here) but we know how professional and experienced Marcel is and we knew our pets were in excellent hands.
As a bonus, the gardens of Ermington Veterinary Surgery are beautiful with an amazing selection of plants. 🌺🌼

I have been taking my Dogs to Marcel since he took over from Joel. About 10 years ago. Talk about Lucky. Marcel is a very caring Vet. He is very compassionate with the Animals he treats. He seems to have a bond with every dog I have had in his care. The same attitude and treatment comes from his assisting staff. I feel it very rewarding having such a qualified Veterinary Surgeon and Staff that I have treat my Dogs.

Marcel was professional and thorough in his examination of our new puppy. Highly recommended!

Marcel and staff are very kind, compassionate, and professional in looking after your pets. All my 6 dogs have been looked after over 10 years. If you need a vet then this is the place for you.

Our Labrador is 10 years old and have been seeing Dr Marcel since we got her. We also now see Dr Valerie who also practice with Dr Marcel.

They are both Fantastic and have genuine care and not crazy priced compared to other places. Regardless, medical bills for pets are expensive but to compare... Dr Marcel who is the principal vet charges fairly.

I've recommended my friends to Ermington vet and all of them travel from afar if need be.

Dr Marcel, vet nurse Jessica and Team are amazing. We have been coming to them for the last two years. Since we adopted Atticus from Kitty Kat Rescue. They give the best advice. They are a very reasonable price and Atticus is always happy to come there as he has happy memories from when they took care of him after he had been abandoned. We travel all the way from the inner city because they are just so great. We are lucky to have found such wonderful caring vets and vet team. Thanks for all you do!
