Having tried Yoga classes everywhere, I finally found a “home” where the community and most importantly, the teachers, are excellent and nurturing. You will experience a fantastic workout and you can go further with deep, sincere study of Yoga philosophy, physiology, breath work, meditation, and more. I am grateful for this studio. I am humbled by the strength and commitment of fellow students. And I am in awe of Angelika’s teaching style. I highly recommend North Sydney Yoga if you are seriously looking to grow, learn, heal and strengthen your whole self.

A great place to learn Mysore yoga from an authentic and experienced teacher. Angelika is a compassionate and inspiring teacher. After a few weeks I saw so much improvement in my practice and felt stronger both mentally and physically.
The studio is really warm and homely and is very welcoming.

Angelika’s years of knowledge and experience in yoga shows in the way she teaches! Very calm, composed and patient she will walk you through the yoga poses and through your practise explain you small small details of yoga! They have classes all 7 days of the week to suit everyone’s need and regular workshops to deepen your knowledge if you are keen! Highly recommend the place

"Inspirational Footprints: A Profound Journey Guided by Angelika Knoerzer's Teachings at North Sydney Yoga”

I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for the transformative teachings of Angelika Knoerzer at North Sydney Yoga. “The will to do, the soul to dare," perfectly encapsulates the essence of her teachings and the impact she has had on countless individuals like myself.
Years ago, I embarked on my Ashtanga yoga journey, and it was Angelika, a true pioneer, who introduced me to the practice of Mysore at North Sydney Yoga. From the very first encounter, her presence and mesmerizing way of teaching the flow captivated my senses. The Sanskrit chants and the methodical approach of Mysore left an indelible impression on me. Angelika's teachings have become the guiding light that shapes my practice, both on and off the mat, navigating its ups and downs.
In the midst of the inevitable challenges and triumphs we all encounter in the Mysore practice, it is the wisdom imparted by Angelika and a select few practitioners that consistently draw me back. Their teachings serve as a spiritual compass, guiding me on this profound path of self-discovery. Although my practice may not always appear flawless as I navigate the process of reconnecting with my breath, I have cultivated a deeper appreciation for Mysore and its transformative power through Angelika's guidance.
I am immensely grateful to Angelika for her unwavering patience in helping me forge a profound and healing connection to Ashtanga yoga in its purest form. Her dedication surpasses expectations, and her compassionate nature shines through her selfless service to others. Angelika's invitation to embrace personal evolution sparks the courage within us to wholeheartedly commit to our practice.
The humility radiating from Angelika is truly astounding. She maintains the integrity of the practice while adapting and adjusting it to cater to the unique needs of each student. For this, I hold deep reverence and gratitude towards her. During times of doubt or when I need an extra dose of courage, I find myself contemplating, "What would Angelika do?" Her example encourages us to embrace discipline, confront our own growth, and honour our shared humanity.
I wholeheartedly recommend practicing with Angelika and her colleagues at North Sydney Yoga if you have the opportunity. Their teachings and presence will undoubtedly enrich your journey and provide a profound experience of the Ashtanga practice.
When I asked Angelika how she manages to embody such grace and wisdom, her response, accompanied by a heartfelt smile, was simply, "I love it." This embodies the true essence of the practice—to open our hearts with courage. One of her greatest achievements is helping a student walk again after a fall. What truly warms her heart is observing students arrive with slouched postures and heavy hearts, only to leave with smiles, upright postures, and open hearts. It is this profound transformation that fuels her love for the practice.
As Angelika embarks on a well-deserved sabbatical, we all extend our wishes for a restful and rejuvenating break. Whether she chooses to relax, indulge in leisure activities, or explore new endeavors, she has undoubtedly earned this time for herself. Her remarkable commitment to serving others deserves recognition. Personally, Angelika has played a pivotal role in assisting me in overcoming personal ailments to continue my yoga journey.
Enjoy your well-earned break, Angelika. May the universe acknowledge the immense contribution you have made in the service of others. We eagerly await your return.

Om Shanti 🙏

My partner and I went to the shala this morning for the first time as we are in Sydney for one day and didn’t want to miss our practice.

From the moment we walked in, we felt the beautiful atmosphere and friendliness. We hadn’t booked in, but we were lucky to find two spots (if you are planning to go, it’s better to book in advance).

We attended the Mysore class and Angelika was incredibly helpful and provided new insights into both of our practices. She is very experienced and has great understanding about all aspects of Yoga, so it was a very well-rounded practice for both of us.

We really appreciated her taking the time to get to know us before and after practice. We will definitely be back whenever we return to Sydney and absolutely recommend to any practitioner looking for an authentic and accessible experience 🧡

I have been a regular practitioner of Ashtanga Yoga for over 12 years and the one place I always find myself going back to is Angelika's class at North Sydney Yoga. Angelika is very perceptive and anticipates what her students need. She strikes the perfect balance between gentle encouragement to develop a deeper practise, whilst being understanding of individual physical limitations. Angelika is incredibly knowledgable about all aspects of Yoga and has created a beautiful yoga community that welcomes the seasoned Ashtangi as well as the first time Yogi. I cannot recommend her highly enough as a teacher and am very thankful for all the guidance she has given me over the years.

I started Yoga only 6 weeks ago, and wasn’t sure how will I perform, or if I’ll enjoy it. Having joined NSY, I couldn’t ask for a better experience!

Angelika is a very patient instructor, who truly knows her students. I couldn’t believe how much attention she gives and the way she remembers my level, what I’m good at and need to improve. Just incredible! She’s so passionate about what she does, and truly wants us (students) to reach our goals.

See, this personal care she puts is something to look up for. It’s a 100% safe environment to be, and the studio is just full of peaceful and positive energy.

I’m in love in with Yoga now, Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga to be specific. I’m progressing through my goals: both physical, mental and spiritual.

Can’t recommend this studio enough.

Thank you Angelika, and Bogi for making my journey amazing so far

OM Shanti 🙏🏻

I have practiced at NSY for 3 years now. The location is a 7 minute walk from North Sydney station towards the waterfront in McMahon's point. The studio itself is modest in size but you will find yourself naturally drawn to this space for its spacious airiness. Walk in and you will want to linger.

Over the years of practicing Ashtanga yoga, I have gained the freedom to live a more fulfilling life, a grander vision for myself, more meaningful relationships, and best of all an awakening peace that steadily but surely grew more and more stable.

Angelika is a patient and dedicated teacher that will take the time to share in your triumphs as well as lead you out of difficulties. I highly recommend this place even if you are completely new to yoga.

I love the energy that is present in the warm and beautiful space at NSY. The teachers are lovely - skilled, dedicated and highly experience in assessing each student's needs. They genuinely want to help each student in their practice. I ride (a bicycle) an hour to get to morning mysore, so I guess that says something!
