Newy Fried Chicken Pop-Up Diner

Genuinely some of the best spicy chicken tenders I've ever had. I usually prefer hot sauce over dry rub but these were divine. All good heat levels too, would easily eat a bucket of all but the hottest level. The choc mint desert lasagne is a must too. Absolutely love the atmosphere and service, Nic's got a fantastic spot going. We'll definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.

Well this was a long time coming but we finally made it to Newy Fried Chicken. A bucket list item checked off. My wife had the tenders basket and they were outstanding. My boys and I each had the spicy chicken sandwich and they completely rocked our world's. Smokey BBQ sauce is a killer. Hospitality and service was the best I've had in forever. Super friendly and went above and beyond to make sure my family and I had everything we needed (including a high chair for the baby). Will be definitely going back.

Five stars for a great local business! For the money the value is there in product and service. Have met Nick (owner) and Fox and these guys have been so accommodating. If a crunchy chicken burger with crinkle cut fries is on your mind (and you must get the smokey honey mustard with that) then this is your joint. It's a small establishment with a great story. The owner has put so much time and effort into upcycling and sourcing great decor. Eat inside at the bar, a table or a booth, or sit outside. There's a well appointed restroom, all needs considered. I've been twice now and love the spicy mayo burger. Plenty of menu items to choose from - choose your level of heat and even go "off-menu" if you think you can handle it. I've taken a bite out of the hottest wings they can produce, it is not for the feint-hearted!! Great customer service, relaxed diner atmosphere, pay at the till or skip the queue and order via the table QR code which will reveal ALL the menu items. Easy parking and wheelchair accessible. There needs to be more places like this! Keep it up.

I reckon this is the best fried chicken place I've come across. From the quality of the food to the amazing service.

Love the setup, classic American diner vibes and its amazing! Not wankerish about this place. Our go to favourite chicken joint.

This place is getting better and better.
Have been going semi regularly since they were int he old Newy Hotel. Much prefer this new location, although I have to say, when we went most recently we all left stinking of hot oil as though we had been working in the kitchen!

Other than that, the Classic Sando was as delicious as always and my out of towner guests were really impressed with their meals!

The cauliflower bites, or whatever theyre called are a surprise menu star, and honestly, don't bother with the chips!

For those who want spice, but want to be able to finish their meals, I reckon go for medium. Some days even that can get a little risky, but anything else is a flavour compromise

Best fried chicken burger i’ve had in quite a while, hot juicy and delicious.
Tenders are delicious and juicy, nice level of spice for the hot level.
Also whatever the chips are flavoured with is delicious.

Chicken wings are very juicy & tender and you can choose the spicy levels you like. Chips are yummy and crispy. Nice indoor seating area too. Definitely visit again.

From walking in and being welcomed in by the owner, so friendly and wholeheartedly, the diner looks and feels comfortable. Went for lunch and enjoyed the range of heat levels, sandos, sides, and sauces. We tried the cauliflower popcorn and sando, and they were amazing! Overall, great! Will be back again!

The fried chicken is to die for and be sure to try the waffles. The menu has been perfectly crafted with years of practice. It’s genuine, it’s delicious, it’s a must try!

The third trip to NEWY FRIED CHICKEN... AND chasing the demon of "Off Menu Hot ★★★★★ Heat™ , and s*** is still Lit with a capital L in more than one way. Many places either a. Claim hot without delivering on the heat, or b. Deliver only heat and no flavour/gastronomic, compositional thought to showcasing the spice mix to the palette of the diners-who-dare.

Having done a tour of the spicy chook spectrum—everything from Thai and Viet birds eye varietals to Korean Gojuchara and many attempts at the Nashville rub, NFC is not only worth it's digital currency in hype but also a try in real life if you're about that food that will throw you into the next dimension. The flavour is deep and bright, like a sour plum that has soaked in cinnamon, all spice and salt. It's absolutely delicious and worth the hell you'll experience immediately after and the next day.

The in-store challenge is to finish 4(?) of the wings without any drink or sides in one sitting. If you do, you make the Wall of Fame, proudly posted on the shop's feature wall. If not, you, much like your bowel movements, are posted up in the bathroom.

You can also just enjoy the stellar fried chicken, natty wine and craft beer selection, and sides. I've been told they serve THE BEST Fried Chicken Burger/Sandwich around... pretty big call but on sight alone, worth a nomination for the title. It's such a vibe that the team at NFC really put a lot of care into. My recco: test your might and order a flight (of tenders)

Best fried chicken in newy hands down, stuff KFC waste of money in comparison. Chicken was cooked perfectly & seasoned so well, paired perfectly with their comeback sauce 💯👌🏼. Food was a 10/10 and lived up to it's hype online. The owner was super friendly and the rest of his staff were top tier!
Both hubby and I had the chicken and waffles and they were cleared completely.

The best chicken we have ever had!! My partner and I went into the diner tonight and we had a rough day with moving house so we wanted to wind down with a nice takeout meal. Walking in, the service was amazing, the man helped us with the menu as it was our first time and we had a lovely chat about the move from the newy hotel to the diner. Second, the atmosphere of the place, absolutely perfect, everything was neat and tidy and the staff all smiled at us as we were waiting. Definitely the perfect American diner setting with even seats at the bar to have a chat if you wanted. Thirdly, the food, I kid you not when I say this is the best chicken burger my partner and I have ever had. The chicken did not have a dry spot on it. We wanted seconds as soon as we ate our burgers and wings. We will 1000% be returning for more food in the further and can say I will choose this any day over kfc. Well done guys, absolutely amazing :)

Newy Fried Chicken's new spot on Lambton Rd in Broadmeadow is a win! Even though it might be temporary, they've created a cozy diner atmosphere that's perfect for enjoying their incredible fried chicken.

Speaking of the chicken, it's simply the best. Always juicy and perfectly crispy, they're constantly innovating with new menu items. Plus, they have a range of spice levels to suit everyone's taste buds.

But Newy Fried Chicken isn't just about the food. The owner is an absolute gun - frierndly and welcoming, making the whole dining experience even better. Highly recommend checking them out! (2024)

Staple of Newcastle. Place is set up with an awesome diner experience and flawless aesthetic. Brilliant attention to detail. And the food is on the same standard. Had the best burger I've ever had in my life and the rest of the meal was fire and provided great value for money. Staff, especially owner were super friendly and welcoming. Can't recommend this place enough if you are ever at Newcastle.

If you haven't tried this place out, I'd highly recommend. Awesome chicken and the owner is super nice, you can tell he genuinely cares about his business.

Only complaint, which wasn't an issue for me but my girlfriend was struggling with sensory issues, particularly with the music being too loud inside the diner.

Other than that, awesome job guys, 5/5!
