Vulcan State Forest

Great spot, not too many mushrooms though was an awesome walk!

The trees need another 3-4 years to fully develop and will the be the perfect spot for saffron milk cups. Been there in 2022 so keep an eye for the right time and year in the future.

We still managed to pick like 3kg of saffron milk cups though so the potential is great :)

Went for camping in June 20-23.23 freaking cold. But lots of firewood available.

Sapphires galore.
Picked the right spot.
2-3 per hour.

No designated camping area or facilities. Most tracks are easily accessible via 2WD. Great for hiking. Plenty of mushrooms in March / April, most are poisonous so be sure to know what's what before consuming. Dogs allowed but be careful to let them off the lead as plenty of holes, man made and wombat made in the whole of the Forest. Bring plenty of water and warm clothes.

Beautiful place.
The dirt roads are easy to drive with a Ford Territory, but are very overgrown.
My photos are on the edge of the forest..there is a creek and an old gold mine in the foreground near those trees.

Good place to fossick for gold & gems.

Terrible place, no deer to hunt over there what so ever, absolutely nothing but misery

Someone told me there are no deer in this forest
