The Carriages Boutique Hotel & Vineyard

This past weekend spent at Carriages was just amazing! The owners hospitality was second to none! The location was superb with kangaroos jumping around the grounds and a gorgeous open fire place. I highly recommend you stay here and I look forward to going back again! Thank you so much for a great experience.

My husband and I have just returned from our 2 night stay at the delightful Carriages Boutique Hotel. Secluded, peaceful & just perfect !

Beautiful boutique rooms/appartement with very friendly owners! Had a small wine tasting at arrival and the Chardonnay they make/grow is very tasteful. Breakfast is good and healthy! Kangaroos are jumping thru the vineyards! Tennis field (incl rackets) is available too

My partner and I stayed at the beautiful Carriages Boutique hotel & Vineyards a couple of weeks ago. The bedrooms and vineyard was exactly - if not better - than expected, and we especially enjoyed the morning breakfast. We were lucky enough to be able to play tennis (all equipment is provided) on one of our evenings between wine tastings (they offer this at the vineyard if you ask them directly) and were particularly charmed by the many kangaroos hopping about. This is the perfect place if you are looking for a slice of Hunter Valley tranquility and a base for local wine tastings. We ate at the Muse Restaurant down the road on our last night, and thoroughly recommend this too if looking to have a particularly nice dinner.

Have just returned home from 2 days away and really enjoyed my stay at Carriages. Accommodation was just perfect as was our lovely breakfast and it is in such a peaceful setting.

Centrally located in the pokolbin vineyards yet you feel a thousand miles away with the serenity and beauty of this getaway. We were warmly welcomed by our hosts Nerina and Alistair who couldnt do enough to make us comfortable during our stay. The room was well appointed and we spent the afternoon relaxing on the sweeping verandah taking in the beautiful view and local wildlife. Our breakfast was amazing, fresh croissants, fruit, muesli, yoghurt and fresh juice. This was all delivered in a beautiful hamper by our hosts. We thoroughly recommend a stay here and we cannot wait to come back.

Stunning location, nestled away behind beautiful rows of vines, the guest house is everything you need. Sweeping verandah, large rooms, open fire, heavy curtains for a good sleep in!!
The breakfast was beautiful, lovely fresh croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, muesli! All delivered in a hamper each morning..
Alistair & his wife were incredibly friendly and have a great b&b. If you are looking for somewhere to stay where you feel relaxed and in the country - this is your spot! We are looking forward to returning and hopefully getting to stay in the cottage!

We spent an incredible two nights at the stunning Carriages with my Dad and Fiancé, we were truly spoilt with incredible scenery, great wine, and the breakfasts on the veranda were unparalleled. We had just arrived back from living overseas and Carriages was the perfect time away before settling back into everyday life.

Had a lovely stay here, with Nerina and Alistair (the owners) being excellent to communicate with before and during the stay. The location is very central for the hunter.

The rooms were large and very clean, with plenty of spots to enjoy a glass a wine around the property, including on the verandah, in the garden or out near the lake and vineyard. And the breakfast baskets were amazing!

Overall one of the better accommodation experiences I have had in the hunter, and I thought excellent value!

We had an amazing time at Carriages in Pokolbin , Nerina and Alistair were so lovely attending to any of our needs. Quiet, peaceful, the best king size bed, comfortable and clean. Wish we could have stayed longer than just a weekend. Will definitely be going back for another break very soon. Thank you for a lovely relaxing stay.

What a stunning place, peaceful, homely and a break away from the crazy lane we often find ourselves in. The room was super comfortable, you wake up to the awesome views each morning and the breakfast basket is the perfect way to start the day. Huge thanks to the owners who are so welcoming and friendly. What a great place to stay and wind down.

It was the best! Unbelievably special…. we had the dreamiest weekend you could possibly wish for and loved every moment! Huge thanks to Alistair and Nerina who had thought of everything - we were made to feel totally at home, wonderfully relaxed and spoilt to bits! We adored Rosebank Cottage - the rooms were gorgeous, the bathrooms… out of this world, breakfasts too yummy for words and it was heaven relaxing on the verandah - we loved the space and naturalness of all around - I have to mention the plumbago…. sooooo beautiful! Everywhere was stunning and I couldn’t have been happier than just sitting and sketching in the dappled shade underneath the tree - we all loved every moment and can’t wait to return. Hugs (loved a hug instead of a handshake!) xx

Have just returned from a beautiful weekend staying at The Carriages, Nerina & Alistair are the most amazing hosts, from my first contact when booking for a large group, to our arrival & our stay to celebrate my daughter’s special birthday. The rooms are inviting, well equipped & comfortable. The veranda is a beautiful spot to sit & watch kangaroos hop on by. Cannot wait to stay there again.

We had such a beautiful stay! The room was perfect, lovely little touches everywhere. Breakfast was delivered to the room, it included fresh warm croissants and huge bowel of fresh fruit among other things. I would highly recommend.

We stayed at the Guest House for 3 Nights and I could not speak highly enough of the hospitality shown by Alastair & Nerina. The rooms were spacious and clean and had everything you needed. The breakfast basket left every morning outside your room was delicious. Private wine tasting of their boutique wines on the balcony was amazing. The Carriages are in walking distance to lots of beautiful restaurants and cellar doors. I will be returning to stay again and would highly recommend The Carriages on your next visit to the Hunter.

Wonder romantic getaway in the Hunter. My girlfriend and I had an incredible time staying at The Carriages. The Veranda Suite was everything we could have hoped for in a stay. The veranda was a perfect place to relax with a few glasses (bottles...) of their delicious wine (2014 Shiraz!!) with a lovely cheese platter, overlooking the natural surroundings as the sun set. It does get cold at night, but we moved into the beautifully decorated and furnished room, opened another bottle of wine and continued our evening next to the open wood fire (THE BEST). In the morning we were delivered a basket of breakfast goodies to our door, super yum and perfect way to start any day!! There are a few wineries and restaurants nearby which we visited, and the owners also gave us great recommendations and advice for tours around the area. Would definitely recommend treating yourself to a stay here, we'll definitely be returning in the very near future!! : )
