Yaralla House

Apart from Olympic Park which is suitable for weekend picnics in Sydney’s northwest, there is actually a good place called Yaralla House hidden near Rhodes and Concord Hospital. Parking is free and convenient.

There is a large grassland here, and the trees beside the road look like a majestic English garden. Because the flowers and plants are so beautiful, people who are not familiar with this area will think this is a private place and dare not trespass; but it is actually open to the public.

Going further inside, you will see the river and a bamboo forest, which is a very unique spot for a weekend stroll.

This is a rarity of existing old estate in suburban Sydney. It's a huge ground that has an old Victorian Italianate mansion, established gardens, and is surrounded by water of the Parramatta River. It's about a ten minutes walk from Concord West train station. It's listed as a heritage area and part of the Concord Hospital complex. I love visiting here for its massive parkland and easy access to surrounding areas like Breakfast Point and Cabarita.

It’s a heritage listed property which is also a health facility for people with special needs. They have opened the grounds for people to explore and it’s an amazing place. Dogs are allowed on lead and you can walk along the forest in the back or the estate along mangroves and beautiful water front.

We did a couple of dog parties here at the park as it is tucked nicely away from main roads. This park is amazing and beautiful and it is our go to park for hosting any dog parties for their safety!

Yaralla estate is a great place for a walk. As you work your way, you get to this quiet waterside!

This place holds a very special place in my heart - got engaged here a year ago on 4th July 2021 (during Sydney lockdown!)

Everything about this place is perfect and views are stunning.

Walk down a tree-lined driveway, through the fields of an historic urban farm, on its own private peninsula... the grounds of the Yaralla Estate provide a truly rustic and enchanting inner west public walking route. (Ideal for dog walking, but a lot of signs say to keep dogs on a leash).

The grounds are open to the public but seem to have little funding. Yaralla House while occupied, is in obvious disrepair.

But the gardens and waterside walks seem miles away from the suburbia which now surrounds this magical time capsule.

The house is not open, but the sign on its veranda usefully explains all you need to know.

This park/area is a great place for a nice walk and picnic. There is a wonderful rose garden an age care facility and a small beach. However there is no toilet in the park. The council should implement a toilet block for the convenience of visitors.

Quiet place for those who want to merge themselves in to the nature liked in the provinces

Serene place, some parkings available inside but cars are not allowed to drive past the internal gate.
