Sals by the Lake

What a wonderful day. We decided to take Saturday off. Salem, Michael and I walked from Marmong to Warners Bay, stopping at Sals by the Lake at Speers Point Park for a coffee. It's a not for profit, run by the Salvation Army, so all the profits go back into the community. And it has had a facelift and management change in the last few months. The coffee is excellent, and the manager is keen to be supportive of different diets. Extremely keto friendly, he had the chef make beautiful fresh herb omelettes for us. I wish I had taken a photo, because they were amazing, served with fresh pesto and sundried tomato and long sprigs of fresh dill. Not part of the normal menu, it was a beautiful treat.

I’ve heard some not great things about Sal’s in the past, but today when I brought my kids Speers Point Park for a ride on their bikes and a play, I decided to give it a go for lunch afterwards. The kids and I got some chips to share and a milkshake each and I thought the service was fantastic. The milkshakes came out quickly, and the staff were incredibly friendly and chatty with my children. When the chips came out shortly after, the staff member who brought them also didn’t hesitate to interact with my kids, and instead of pointing me in the direction of the cutlery and napkins, offered to get them for me. Two thumbs up for the staff members on today, it was a great experience!

Visited Sal’s By the Lake Cafe with the kids. We ordered a family fish and chips. The price was so reasonable especially considering the portion size and that it included 4 drinks also. We actually couldn’t finish the food, even with 4 of us. The food was cooked well, crisp and crunchy not oily. Fish was really lovely.

Such reasonably priced food but really lovely quality also. Definitely a little diamond of a cafe. Highly recommend!

I am a member of a Probus walking group who walk around Speers Point each Wednesday morning. Most times after our walk, the group will share a coffee and cake at Sals. We always find a friendly welcome from the staff who are most helpful. The coffee is great and the choices of cakes excellent. All the members of our group would recommend Sals as a excellent cafe with a great staff. Well done Sals Cafe.

Came 6 months ago and was very disappointed about lack of breakfast options and not serving food until late. Full 360 since then. Great breakfast menu, friendly staff and great tasting food! Thanks!

Torrential rain and no other customers. They stayed open to serve us breakfast. The food and the coffee are very good. The location is superb as well. Will definitely go back.

Went to Sal's by the lake today. I wad very impressed with the service from all of the staff there. They were friendly, helpful and interested in the needs of the customers. A great experience in a lovely friendly place.
