I had dinner last night and the food was exceptional. The star of the show was the lamb back strap with avocado salsa. The dining experience was great and would recommend the creme caramel as it was my favourite one among the desserts.

In all honesty one of the best meals we have ever had at a restaurant, the utmost care in cooking every element on both our plates was exceptional. Amazing prawns, steak and pork 👌👌 would recommend and revisit for sure. 👍👍

Went for mid-week early dinner. Fabulous food! Haven't found a decent chowder in Aus before, now have: fresh mussels, prawns, not too thick creamy broth. And for the non-seafood loving hubby the chicken with mushroom sauce was divine. Service impeccable! Only missing waterfront views, but if they'd be waterfront doubt we could afford going there 🤣

Went for dinner tonight (2/3) a bit apprehensive after reading some of these reviews. So glad we went. Food was absolutely beautiful. Wife had the seafood tasting plate for one and I had the garlic prawn sizzler. Both dishes were beautiful. Staff were friendly and amazing. Food was served quickly. Try it for yourself and support local business. We will be back.

Our experience here was mindblown! We enjoyed our food very much. Ordered the seafood platter, pumpkin ravioli, seafood chowder and 1/2 doz oysters. I can’t begin to even explain the way the play with their flavours. If you’re having doubts in dropping by to try Sandpipers, think no more! This is the place to go!

Delicious food. Generous portions and beautiful produce used. Fresh seafood and tender meat.
Staff were very friendly and service was a tiny bit slow but it was busy.

Great place. Food is incredible, beautiful wines, every item we ordered was so delicious.. we came during busy season and the restaurant was packed, however they did not refuse us, and managed to put together a table for 8 people last minute. So wonderfully accommodating and very delicious food. Will definitely come back. Thanks for a great night!

We have been to Sandpipers a few times over the years and just keep coming back! Easily the best restaurant in Nelson Bay. The food is always hot and fresh and comes out not long after ordering no matter how busy the place is. The scallops are to die for. Seafood is always fresh. Cocktails are decent, however only a few options. Staff are always friendly and available to help.

Every bite was an absolute pleasure. No matter what dish you choose, quality is guaranteed.

We had seafood chowder, spring rolls and swordfish. All very delicious. Service staff were lovely.

The BEST steak we have had in a long time. We are happy to pay for good cow - but this was fantastic Angus! We started on the oysters that were a main meal by themselves they were that BIG! Flavour was amazing! Make sure you have one meal here if in the area! Ten star!

Wait staff are absolutely incredible, so attentive. Small restaurant but so worth it. The food is next level delicious, I had the Lobster pasta which was a special and my friend had the barramundi. We also had the salt and pepper squid and that too was so yummy!
Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a tasty dinner in a beautiful area.

It was our first time in Nelson bay and our first time at Sandpipers, the steaks we had were so delish we cleaned the plates and went back for the next night.
Highly recommend the 250g black Angus eye fillet, cooked perfectly. And the prawn linguine special was one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had.
Make sure you leave room for dessert.

Excellent meal all around! Top notch service and even better food. We had the half shell scallops, meat tasting dish, and the seafood linguine. Everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavour. The serving sizes were massive as well. I think it’s one of the best dinner spots in Nelson Bay.

Had dinner there on Saturday with my wife. Great experience from the lovely waitress Monica who was friendly and knowledgeable to the food. I had the Prawn linguini special - outstanding. Perfectly cooked paste and generous portion of Prawns. Good selection of wines. Well done we will be back.

My friends and I enjoyed our meals. Service was lovely. Good spot in the bay.
