Canine Rehab and Hydrotherapy

My little cavoodle Luna had issues with the tenderness of her hind legs and we had numerous sessions with Marcello & Shelley. They were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in showing me extra exercises for me to do with Luna at home. She is doing much better and if she needs any treatment in future we’ll happily return. I highly recommend them!! :)

My pup had a TPLO surgery and the bad leg has a lot of muscle atrophy. After having a few hydrotherapy treatments, I see noticeable improvements and the bad leg has gotten a lot stronger. My pup was very scared during the first session but Shelley was so patient with her and made sure she felt safe and okay. Now Narla gets so excited when she goes to hydro! Thank you team for taking care of my pup!

As a human physio myself, I highly recommend CRAH! What a wonder animal physio clinic. My dog had her ACL surgery repair and she had severe muscle weakness after. We had the 10 sessions package for hydrotherapy. Marcello and his team are very patient and knowledgeable. After 10 sessions, her leg becomes some much stronger, and now she is getting back to her old self!

Marcello & team from Canine Rehab & Hydrotherapy provide an excellent professional service catering to all shapes and sizes. The treadmills are the biggest I've seen in Sydney. Comfortably fits my giant breed dog & he loves it. Totally worth it. Thanks Marcello & Shelley.

The Team at Canine Rehab and Hydrotherapy have been wonderful in helping our pup post surgery. Our dog received regular assessments to gauge how he was improving and we were talked through the process. Free parking is convenient on the street during certain times. Our pup has definitely had a much improved outcome from his surgery by attending the hydro sessions. Thank you the CRAH team.

My Cavalier was diagnosed with bilateral luxating patellas and the vets had informed us that surgery would be likely once she’s older and if conditions doesn’t improve. Looking at alternative methods to assist her for the time being, I started Molly at CRAH a couple of weeks after her diagnosis. We discussed the option of building bigger, stronger muscles through hydrotherapy to support her patellas, in the event where surgery was necessary she would be better off during the 6-week recovery period. At that point, one side was worse than the other and would dislocate 4/5x a day, just from walking.

I was a little worried as she hates being in water, given baths and showers have always been a challenge. Fortunately Marcello and Shelley have been so kind and adaptable with positive reinforcement (and dealing with Molly’s incessant complaining) that she has turned into a water-loving doggo after a few sessions. She even recognises the route in the car, and is so eager to get in the door for her session.

The ultimate win is that her muscles have developed well enough to support her and she has been given a new lease on life. She is now able to play, jump and run around in parks, swim in beaches, enjoy play dates and a wrestle with her friends as if the whole thing never happened, and thankfully surgery is no longer on the cards. A double win!

You absolutely cannot put a price on this once you weigh in the benefits. I am extremely grateful to the team at CRAH and cannot thank them enough.

Bella, our 6 yr old Kelpie x Border Collie started limping one day in her back legs around a year ago and it turned out she has hip dysplasia. Thankfully it wasn’t so bad that she needed surgery so we needed to find someone to help strengthen her muscles around her hips in order to help manage her condition.

We found CRAH, Marcello and Shelley have worked with us with Hydrotherapy over the year and we couldn’t be happier with the results! We initially went once a week to really build her muscles which Bella found quite tough, but we pushed through this successfully and now we go once a month to maintain the strength that we’ve worked so hard to build.

Bella has since been able to live a normal doggy life, going on long walks and zooming around off lead! (Not too much though of course!) Being a young dog and an active breed that loves to run, I am over the moon that she is able to do what she loves most again with the help and patience of the awesome CRAH team.

Bella is also terrified of vets, Shelley and Marcello have been incredibly patient working with her through her fear and now she likes to see them even if she’s still a bit nervous! She even lets Shelley dry her feet with a towel now!

If you have an injured pup or a pup with a long term condition, I couldn’t recommend Marcello and Shelley enough! Thank you guys so much for helping Bella :)

Bluey is 13yrs old and slipped 2 discs. I was told he would need surgery costing $20,000 which was not affordable, but I could try rehab. After much searching I found Canine Rehab and after approx. 11 sessions of hydro and laser, Bluey is walking, running, climbing stairs, jumping on to the sofa and has no pain. He is a bit wobbly but he already had arthritis and at risk of cruciate ligament surgery. So thank you Marcelo and Shelley for giving me back my happy dog who still thinks he is a puppy. I can't recommend you more highly. And if he should injure himself again I know where to come to.

In September 2020, Stella experienced a missile disc which left her temporarily paralysed for approx 6 weeks and this resulted in Stella being diagnosed Type III disc disease - degeneration of the discs.

Stella has been seeing Marcello weekly for 12 months for both laser therapy and hydrotherapy. When we arrive, Stella cannot get into the room fast enough, it may have something to do with the balls/toys that Marcello has for his clients to play with.

I cannot speak more highly of Marcello. The care that he provides to Stella is beyond exceptional and what matters most is that I trust Marcello 100%, knowing that he cares and he provides the best care to Stella.

Stella's long-term prognosis is not that good, with her discs expected to degenerate more so. But, we will continue to have weekly sessions with Marcello to maintain the strength in her legs.

I would have no hesitation in recommending Marcello and the team.

I took my 5 yr old Aussie bulldog, Manchee, to get hydrotherapy at Canine Rehab after she was limping a lot on her back leg. She has hip dysplasia and it made me very unhappy to see this young, active dog limited in this way.
Marcello and Shelley were fantastic. Manchee was so excited by the visits that she would drag me from the car to the clinic. After 6-7 sessions, she was weight bearing normally again and her bulldog joy of life had returned completely.
Marcello also offered great dietary and supplement advice, giving all options available without any bias except to quality.

My Cosworth (14 year old Blue Heeler with arthritis and history of geriatric vestibular disease) has been having a weekly session of hydrotherapy for about 3 months now and is really benefiting from his weekly sessions. His walking has improved immensely, less drag on the nails and lifting his paws more. He loves going to see Marcello and Shelly and he enjoys his session and the treats of course.

The team, Marcello, Shelley and Bec are amazing! Our dashie Luna has been going weekly for 4 months now , following IVDD , surgery, as part of her ongoing physio. A program was developed with Marcello during her first consultation and she has been progressing positively each visit . The mix of at home physio advice and hydro therapy is great. What is fantastic and puts Luna at is ease is having someone in the water with her, this means they are correcting any areas that need more focus each visit. Luna cant wait for her visit every Saturday !

I took my rescue dog Banjo to see Marcelo after she had an operation for a ruptured disc. Banjo is 13 year old dog. When she started seeing Marcelo she could possibly walk slowly for 10 minutes but was really wobbly on her legs post operation.

Marcelo was amazing. He has wonderful rapport with dogs and he really cares. Marcelo listened and tailored his hydrotherapy to Banjo’s needs.

Banjo can now walk for a good amount of time during her 3 daily walks. She is no longer wobbly on her feet and is now a really happy dog again.

Best place in sydney for dog rehab, weight loss & physio maintenance. My boy is 12yo & still gallops like a horse because of their handiwork. Cannot recommend it highly enough.

Marcello and Shelly have been very supportive and attentive to luigi (border Collie with arthritis). His back legs got stronger and now we are back working on his front legs. Great team !!

Shelly and Marcello were absolutely incredible in assisting Wesley on his DOUBLE TPLO recovery. We committed to 2x sessions weekly for approx 6 months and it was worth every penny. He's now running and jumping like a puppy again, despite being 7 years old, with 3 knee surgeries and a spinal surgery under his belt. Wesley and i can't thank you enough for everything!

Monte my Lab and I love Canine Rehab and Hydrotherapy. We discovered CRH 3 months ago. Monte has spine damage and going twice a week has made such a difference for him he’s back to having more stability, feeling confident, runs and does the odd zoomie. We would not have achieved this without doing the twice weekly visits to build up his strength. Marcello and Shelly have taken the time to understand his issues, build trust with him and me. And been able identify the right solution for Monte. Highly recommend these guys there amazing

Our collie has been attending Canine Rehab and Hydrotherapy for the last few months. The superb work done has given her more strength and mobility and drastically improved her quality of life. The staff are professional, attentive and fantastic with her and she gets excited about her visits.

Our dog Sammy has serious arthritis and bulging discs throughout most of his spine and I was losing hope that he’d ever be well again. He had a lot of muscle wastage and went from being unable to go to the toilet because his pain was so severe to a happy dog that frolics in the park, wants to wrestle, and has regained much of his lost muscle.
Marcello is super knowledgable, friendly, and has been great at helping Sam rebuild his old strength. He watches Sammy closely to push him just enough and always stretches him throughout the session so he won’t get sore.
Hydrotherapy with Marcello has completely changed Sammy’s life and thus mine. We highly recommend him to anyone with a dog that needs some extra support. You'd never know that Sam is 11 now. Thanks Marcello!
