The health ombudsman committed fraud in front of the CCC for months now. The health ombudsman has victimised me for putting in my complaint against Qld health. They have committed Medicare fraud, medical fraud and the health ombudsman commits fraud to cover up for these hospitals. I went to state and federal police, I been to every politician including the prime minister and I am still sitting here suffering so badly with .severe internal injuries while I have had to give my evidence to the Qld ombudsman. Wish I can add evidence to this review of fraud by the health ombudsman and acknowledgement by the Qld ombudsman. Nobody has any hope of oho helping them. I showed fraud, crime and so much corruption 😔

The OHO is Corrupt Dishonest and Unprofessional - they cover up Offences committed by OHO and Health Staff. They should be shut down. The Money could be spent on saving some lives of Queenslanders

Leaving this review just to even the field a little as I realised like most things those happy with the service have happily moved on and onky those who it didnt work out for are leaving bad reviews hence a skewed result.
Marnie is who went above and beyond for us and got our desired resolution.
Very happy with the result and service

I am extremely happy with the quality of advice and information for my cause. The young lady was very kind, empathetic and friendly. She also has a vast knowledge of the practice with regards to my issues.

I had a very constructive experience with this department. A delightful man called mark even did a follow up call to see the matter was resolved. I have never dealt with this department before so my first experience was wonderful 🤗🌈🌈🌈🌈

I have read the following reviews with a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach. I lodged a complaint about a Qld Regional Hospital and since then I have had nothing but intimidation from the hospital to withdraw my complaint. Pain treatments delayed and refused for incurable cancer and I find that OHO has handed the complaint back to the hospital to investigate. Does that pass the sniff test? Exactly what positive outcomes has OHO reached for us that are suffering at the hands of bullies with massive egos? What is the point of OHO and I agree with others that Queenslanders should be able to approach APHRA directly.

It's depressing to see how many individuals wrote lengthy evaluations saying how pointless it was and how much they wanted to be heard and for justice to be served.

People deserve accountability from those who have caused them harm, heartache and hardship.

I recommend you find legal avenues, this is NOT the place.

I had a stroke in the ER room of the PA Hospital after they denied me the usage of Ryan's Rule and several Hospitals, 13 HEALTH, Ambulances Services and such refused me treatment, falsified reports, berated and insulted me all whilst I was in a critical condition and in desperate need of healthcare due to the stroke.

I almost died and now have permanent brain damage as a result and despite of numerous recordings, photos, videos, documents etc proving my claims the health ombudsmans have cleared the hospitals and such of any wrongdoing.

This service is a complete waste of taxpayers money. The people involved here need to be trialed and imprisoned for their conduct and outright corruption.

Don't waste your time , just another useless Government agency, I made a complaint about a Denture I got done and the problems I was having with it , I was told I would be wasting my time , and yes it was a total useless, like it is just keeping Public Servants in a job

Queensland forces its patients to use this low quality state based body to investigate nationally registered private practitioners, while it should be AHPRA, like it is in Victoria. Queenslanders shouldn't be penalised with these ancient state-based gatekeeping policies for what are the federal services. This is a double standard for Medicare patients in Queensland as we don't have the same rights others do.

I put a complaint against an QLD X-ray radiologist who gave me a 5 min IV contrast that should have been a myelogram as per my referral. I had evidence in my referral, report and 2 email confirmations of direct complaints to QLD X-ray about the issue going months back. QLD X-Ray's response was that in spite of all these documents, they didn't know I was suppose have a myelogram till the moment I put a complaint to QLD Health Ombudsman - an obvious lie in this situation.
This is what the QLD Health Ombudsman worker "Judi" did: She emailed me to book a time with me for a conversation, I waited for an hour for her call but no one called. 2 days later she closed my complaint stating "thank you for participation in local resolution process" - I am not kidding, that's what they do and nobody is questioning it. I recommend going straight to the media as that is the only way this lazy, currupted state will ever change. They get paid for nothing.

According to the Health Ombudsman, medical misinformation given by a doctor towards the parents of an ill baby girl (without any obtained medical background information) is "not a performance concern" despite the infactuality of that information (related to fevers and seizures). Misinformation of that kind should be a serious concern as it constitutes medical advice.

Yep do not waste your time, just keeping some public servants in a job. had concerns about the response from RWBH but ombudsman said they finished investigating so thats it . I am going to send all transcripts to relevant politicans, then 3 months before next election will be sending it to every social media and opposition polly i can think of. If you have a better idea please let me know.

A complete farce and waste of time with zero action taken against the clinic I complained about, despite proving their incompetence on several occasions.

My surgeon deliberately withheld information about the outcome of the operation prior to surgery. He made no clinic notes about what he was planning to do or what was discussed in terms of material risks or the actual outcome. He has never claimed that he gave me this information prior to surgery and his response was only that he “Discussed the operation” with me.

Oho’s decision. “ I am unable to make any findings about the particular information Dr and other doctors at the PAH provided to you about the procedure you were to undergo. Nevertheless, I am satisfied that you independently signed a consent form stating you understood and accepted the risks of the procedure and were satisfied with the information you had received. I am also satisfied that you voluntarily elected to be treated as a public patient and acknowledged that you understood what your choice meant. I therefore consider the information before me supports that informed consent was obtained from you for Dr to perform the procedure that he performed and to treat you as a public patient”.

Patient Safety and Quality Improvement Service, Queensland Health

completing a consent form does not constitute the entire informed decision-making process.

Informed consent means that a patient has received the information relevant to them to make an informed decision and they have given permission for the health care service to be provided.

As members of the team providing health care to a patient, each individual health practitioner is responsible for their own actions in relation to assisting patients make informed decisions and ensuring they act within the legislative requirements, defined scope of practice and professional codes of conduct.

Edit. A position is currently available for a Complaints Intake and Triage Officer
We act ethically, impartially, objectively and with integrity. We do not take sides.

A detailed understanding of the Queensland healthcare environment is desirable but not essential.
A relevant tertiary qualification in law or health is considered desirable but is not a requirement.

By employing people without any legal or medical qualifications, allows them to make decisions which contradict the laws and our rights.

Long story short, this organisation has let doctors perform things that are medically contradictory. They have them happen to people with disabilities and mental health complaints under their watch. My concerns are fully for the well being and safety of my community at large and yet? My issues raised about the misuse of dissociative sedatives and restraints as a mean to control the disabled, mental health patients, the elderly and anyone who complains to loudly are all but ignored in spite of them being mentioned in several royal commissions into our veterans affairs, mental health and aged care.

The ombudsman is more willing to protect doctors that cause permanent harm and disfigurement to patients than to act in the best interests of the patient.

If you have the money, don't waste your time, see a medical negligence lawyer and go through the courts. The OHO is a kangaroo court that is designed to protect the interests of medical practitioners who engage in corrupt, unconscionable, neglectful and harmful ways.
