Government House

We had a wonderful and informative visit! Rob was very knowledgeable on the history of the gov house. He's entertaining, kind, and been taking care of the whole group. There were about 16 of us in the group. We felt pleasantly surprised from the moment we entered via the gate, when we were greeted by Paul the driver (very nice uniform, Paul!) who is multi-lingual and we had a lovely chat. He was super helpful and cheeky LOL! We started off with tea and coffee with a small biscuit inside the gov house, and her Excellency came out to greet us wow! It was a once in a lifetime experience! We finished off the visit in front of her Rolls Royce. Beautiful house full of history. Garden is gigantic, although due to the rain we missed out and could only had a glimpse of it from afar. It's still a wonderful experience though! Highly recommended!

I don’t really understand the one star review. I have an assistance animal for invisible disability and staff were friendly and security were respectful to us. It was a great tour

We visited Government House on Wednesday morning ( Nov 29, 2023). Christmas is coming, and the yard is decorated with some pretty festive items.

It’s a great place to learn about the history of Queensland. I used to visit Old Government House at QUT Gardens Point. Some places look quite familiar.

The staff is friendly and professional. We met the Governor of Queensland, Dr Young in the house as well. Love her attractive smiles.

A wonderful Coronation Open Day with food trucks, face painting, and lots of special activities. Thank you to all the dedicated staff who ran this event, it was awesome! (except the long queue for the bathrooms 😆)

Beautiful government house. Great tour guides. I love those paintings of the Queen. I wish I had more time looking at those great works of art. Must visit. Bookings required.

Beautiful large colonial era stone building fit with exquisite fixtures. Our tour guide was very nice as well.

We attended investiture service for Australian Honours medal presentation. The afternoon canapes on the lawn after the ceremony was superb. Staff were attentive to guests and family members. Her excellency joined guests and was genuinely interested in the work behind the scenes of the award received.

Nice for a tour, one step closer to local history.

Fun tours and garden tours - professional and informative

It was very beautiful experience. Mayor Young was very kind to the audience. The staff were very warm and welcoming. They served us tea , coffee and biscuits. They explained everything so well. I highly recommend that you visit with your family and friends.

Fernberg House and the gardens are outstanding and well worth a visit there. Sadly I can't remember any of the information I was given when I visited there in 1979/80 (?) but I remember the beautiful house from my first visit there in 1970 and have often driven past there over the years to show relatives

What a Beautiful old Queensland Property, Fernburg is Very Impressive All the Buildings Gardens and Grounds are kept to perfection, Very Helpfull Staff, A Pleasure to visit.
