The Black Market Albion

The Black Brisbane was nothing short of incredible as our wedding venue. I can't rate this place highly enough. Amy, our coordinator, was simply amazing. She patiently answered my many, many questions and ensured that everything went incredibly smoothly on the big day. What really stood out was how they went the extra mile – they even got our favourite beer on tap! Thank you to the team at The Black for making our wedding so special and truly memorable!

We recently got married at the Black and couldn't have asked for a better venue! The entire team including the bar staff were amazing and crushed it with our welcome cocktails. Our guests loved the vibe and said they'll be back there soon! Credit to Nikolas David for the photography!

Great fancy and cosy area, awesome coffee and breakfast. Croissants are perfect. Breakfast bun is good though needs a touch of improvement. Looks like the place is going to be bigger and better. Definitely worth coming back later again

We had the amazing pleasure of getting married at The Black Market at the weekend and what an amazingly perfect day. Heather-Jayne is a wonder woman and I seriously wouldn't of managed without her. She made everything run seamlessly & I didn't have a worry in the world as I knew she had it all under control. The communication fro. Start to finish was flawless. Everyone commented on how unique and the perfect location foe our special day. I am so thankful to the whole team. They made it such an amazing experience. Will be a regular that's for sure. Thank you Heather & the team. We loved saying I do with you all.

We recently got married at The Black. It was the most perfect venue and suited all our needs. We had our ceremony and reception there. This is such a cute place to spend a Friday night. Love the foodtrucks and the vibes. I was even lucky enough to go when they were partnering with the Brisbane Street art festival - food and a show what more could you want? Pet friendly, which is a plus.

Too much praise cannot be placed upon this venue!

The entire crew accommodated our somewhat unique celebrations, without reservation or unreasonable compromise.

No event runs 100% smoothly but ours came close with the very few minor amendments to our plans dealt with promptly, efficiently and without hesitation.

The ability to tailor our wedding to what we wanted was easy due to the flexibility and variety of options available.

Terrific event space for a Surprise 50th. Kristie, Heather and the team at The Black were very easy to work with, nothing too much trouble. Plenty of space with different zones for your guests to enjoy - worked really well as we had a band, so those who preferred a quieter spot, gathered in the outdoor garden area, while those keen for a dance hit the floor inside. The night went so well, everyone had a brilliant time and we have some fantastic memories of a great get together with many wonderful friends and family. Also some of the best coffee in town (sampled the next morning from the cafe, while collecting presents from the big night). Would definitely recommend!

We recently held our wedding ceremony and reception at 'The Black' in Albion. The team at the Black are so friendly and efficient - nothing is too hard for them - they happily accommodated all our individual touches, and went the extra mile to ensure none of the forecasted rain would impact us in anyway. They created a space which was so warm and inviting, with a unique rustic charm yet located so close to the city centre. Our guests were all blown away by the venue and how relaxed and charming the space is. Great beers, amazing wines, and fantastic barista brewed coffee were all served in a friendly and efficient manner to our guests. We can't wait to go back and have another drink!

Summary: lovely venue with relaxed feel, welcoming of all, including children and pets. Located in a light industrial estate near a large park.

As with all visits, ones impression depends on personal taste and expectation.

Wedding: a Saturday reception with mobile pizza guy. When I first walked in, I was unsure as this wasn’t the traditional setting. Now I’m a convert. So much better. Lovely venue that provides a great environment for a relaxed family gathering and entertainment. Easy access to the bar.

The layout may present some difficulties for those with ambulatory difficulties as the outside surface is variable; think masonary, stones, timber, steps. We had someone with a walking frame who with assistance managed to get around.

The night lighting is perfect. More romantic than bright. Very fitting for the event. The sound system on the night was perfect. Not sure if those was supplied by the venue.

Enjoyable range of alcohol, easy access bar, great staff.

Breakfast: the following morning we returned for breakfast; party of 20. Magnificent food. Delicious, well proportioned, good variety. All I heard around the table were positive compliments.

I get that staff personalities is as individual as coffee, but in my experience, they were excellent.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised and left with a overwhelming positive feel. I would definitely return. For those seeking a less traditional more family / social type function, I would suggest you check out the venue.

I cannot comment on parking as I used a ride share on both occasions.

My wife and I recently moved into the area, and decided to check out the Black Market on a Friday night. It did not disappoint. Food trucks can sometimes be underwhelming, but you can feel that the trucks on offer were well thought out and chosen in theme. Great selection of craft beers, and the house wines were brilliant. Overall, a very relaxed venue to wind down on a Friday evening.

Love this place, bit of magic on a Friday night. Perfect way to finish a working week sitting around the fire having a few drinks with friends. Ambience plus!

Love the different food trucks. Never had a miss! Plenty of space which is important these days!

We have not been to farmers market on Saturday morning yet, but photos look great!

Brisbanes little Gem!

The Black Market is excellent, brilliant choice of fruit and vegetables ,herbs etc, I mainly go for their freshly dug spuds, also good carrots ,free range eggs ,full selection of vegetables, usually there's at least two or three varieties of spuds. also bang next door is Collingwood Black coffee shop good for breakfast or lunch, there's a van selling sweet treats too and there's usually a couple of other bits and pieces, small space but there's lots to see, good space outdoors for kids etc plus there's a huge oval close by for giving your dog a workout

What an amazing, chill and delightful place. The food is beautiful, tasty, fresh and a bit different while still being familiar. Good servings too. The bar is stocked with some interesting and unusual goodies and everyone is welcoming and friendly. It's intimate, chill and a li'l bit quirky. I'm going back again and again. (*) (*)(*) (*) (*)

Saturday waiting times were 5 minutes, if that. Friendly staff, open planned area for dine in or takeaway. Reasonably priced and delicious food n beverages. 100m away from the local park. I'll definitely be back!

Love finding local cafes to return to. You'll find good coffee, some breakfast menu items here, but most importantly, fresh pies and desserts during weekends!

Tasty food, great coffee, and nice place to visit. The only downside is no A/C or humidifier fans to cool up the shed area.

A relaxed and comfortable place to spend the night with friends. Good food, good wine, and well supported by attentive but unobtrusive service. Worth a visit.

Whether it's a takeaway coffee, weekend produce run or Friday night drinks - Black Market is the best local bar/cafe I could ask for!
