Jochheims Pies

Great little pie shop, so glad we stopped here for brunch on the way through and would recommend others do, even if you are just going past Bowen and not stopping. They do so much more than just pies and have good food and coffee and absolutely amazing staff that make you feel like a regular. The pancakes were a hit. The only regret is the fact that I was going to get some caramel tarts to take with us but forgot. So now we're going to have to go back to Bowen at some stage.

Bought a chicken curry pie, apple turnover and a lamington.The pie had chunky veges in it with the chicken and was a good pie. The pasties were typical bakery standard, not exceptional but okay.
Worth a visit if in Town.

An amazing oasis amongst a desert of cafés in downtown Bowen.

Here I am, desperate for a coffee and some breakfast… and I came across this bakery. Could not believe how busy this place was. The peak hour queues at around 10am to get served lasted for almost an hour. And everybody was so calm and friendly.

I don’t know what they do or how they do it, but I know their pies were nice, and the vanilla slice was fresh. And the servers were very pleasant .

Locals like coming here for their breakfast and lunch sandwiches.

This cafe is awesome. They have a great variety of pies and sandwiches which are delicious. Apart from that you find various sweets and cake that not only look beautiful but taste great too. The coffee is really good.
On top of all that you have staff that is so friendly and cares for their customers like you rarely find it anymore.

What a gem of a cafe. We had morning tea here and from the minute we walked in the staff were smiling and welcoming. The young kiwi girl that served me was cheerful and polite and worked quickly to finalise our order. My vanilla slice was divine!! Light flaky pastry filled with a vanilla custard that wasn’t overly sweet in a very generous portion. The icing was smooth with a slight citrus tang. My husband had a cream horn and also commented on the perfect pastry. Highly recommend!!! 👌👌

This place is amazing absolutely now a favourite of mine with outstanding customer service very clean and tidy and they have a wide variety of freshly made food which are delicious both to look at and to eat

We stoped to grab a quick lunch both the pies and sausage roll were good.

Going into a pie shop as a vegetarian is some times difficult BUT staff here told me every veg option and all so offered to make me something if there was nothing I liked ....

Excellent. Not only pies, but pastries, sandwiches, rolls and coffee. Everything they were selling was great. This place gets busy around morning tea, as the locals come to get their morning tea. The whole time I was there, the queue was out the door, but moving.

The best flavoured pie I've had in a very long time!!! I selected the Mango Chutney, tomato, onion and beef pie. It was perfect from the pastry to the lightly sprinkle of seasame seeds and it was hot inside with a unique flavour that I've never had anywhere else. For dessert selection I chose the vanilla slice that other reviews had mentioned and it also did not disappoint!!! I have never had the pastry so crispy that my husband could hear me crunching it as I bit into it - it was not sweet by any means just a perfect very creamy homemade custard flavour and yes it made the typical "mess" that vanilla slices make :) ;) VERY WELL DONE JOCHHEIMS BAKERY!!!! A MUST VISIT IF YOURE IN BOWEN

Was well worth the detour! Lunch was perfect, we sat outside, pies, pasty, sausage rolls, cupcakes and apple turnover were all delicious and staff were really friendly 🙂

Great coffee and excellent service from an awesome Barista. Forget his name, but a great fellow. Food is also good.

Was lucky enough to try their Thursday Special Prawn Pie! The mango chutney pie was "ok" But what was really great was their coffee ☕☕
