Madison Plaza Townsville

I should say it is a great and smart hotel in Townsville! Highly recommended!!!👍
I have arrived at late night. So I have to contacted with hotel several days before to make sure everything is going well for the late self-check in. And it’s easy and quick to make a self-checkin. The receptionist will send you an email with the instructions, follow the steps and trust in their professional advice. Don’t worry about the late arrival after hours, you can still get an access with your phone! It’s intelligent and efficient, and also very safe! By the way, the room is clean and tidy! A great experience during my stay!!!

I liked it and my kids loved it especially the underground pool. Woolworths is literally a minute walk that was a bonus and we had a comfortable sleep. Definitely returning with my family again.

Great value hotel, always clean, nothing fancy but great service and quality for this price point, brilliant location too, friendly staff.

The hotel is clean and comfortable. Staffs are very helpful. I would like to commend Riyana from housekeeping. She went beyond her job. I ordered food from door dash and asked to deliver in front of my room however the delivery guy left it at the reception. And Riyanah came to rescue to check and get the food for me. Thanks! Keep up the good work.

I don't know why people all provide bad reviews. But I get a good experience here.
Police station is just opposite, very safe;
Many restaurants around, even a Woolworth downstairs, super convenient;
The room looks very old and smells not good, but consider of this price, not hard to accept ;
The only problem is, it's in CBD, so really noisy in the morning. But it's not a problem for an early bird like me. HHHHHH...

Hotel room was lovely. We had an issue with a leaking shower that basically wouldn’t turn off, friendly staff member found us another room immediately and offered to move us completely to a different type of room if we where not happy. She couldn’t do more to make us feel welcome if she tried!

Room was clean and tidy. Enough blankets and pillows where supplied. Stylish room.

Hotel is just amazing at very reasonable price in the town close to the airport.

Located perfectly in the city area. There's a cafe there as well that opens super early. Receptionist Ethan was fantastic checking us in very friendly and professional. Room is perfect for 1-2 people, view is lovely and the shower gel smells divine. My only gripe is the gap under the door lets in alot of outside noise and the walls are thin enough u can hear the other rooms toilets flush. It is an old building but loved our stay

Rooms are nice but in need of some basic maintenance like a new paint job. Staff have been absolutely fantastic, especially as they weren't expecting us as we were caught out by the extended period of wet weather in North Queensland because of ex-Tropical Cyclone Irma which caused our train service though to the Sunshine Coast to be cancelled after we arrived in Townsville.

From the moment you walk in you are created by a friendly receptionist who is nothing but professional. The young man on in the afternoon offered restaurant recommendations, unfortunately we were to tired to go out to try.
The hotel itself while old and worn is absolutely spotless. You can see they take pride in keeping their rooms clean. The room had everything we needed for an overnight stay and the beds were so comfortable we slept for 12 hours straight (recovering from travel).
I would recommend Maddison Plaza to my friends and stay there again of in Townsville. Thankyou!

Very clean, comfortable chairs and bed. Great location and very friendly helpful staff. Woolworths next door, cafes on the street. Parking is off site, though you can drop off your belongs then park. Walk to car park is a slight incline. Definitely will stay again.

The Chifley Plaza Hotel is affordable, comfortable, and is in a prime location.  The staff, were extremely helpful and friendly. The room itself was clean, but was showing a few signs of wear on some doors which had only been painted over, but for the budget price, it was well worth it.

The newly renovated living area was spacious, and furnished with comfortable chairs, and beds. The toilet and bathroom were also newly renovated and resembled that of a modern, premium hotel. All areas were clean and tidy.

Overall it was comfortable and an enjoyable experience,  the continental buffet breakfast had a very nice spread, with delightful fruits, which made the stay all the more pleasant.

Being in Townsville's CBD shops and services are only a sort walk away, and combined with the cheap price, it is well worth looking into placing a booking at the Chifley plaza, if your planning to pass through Townsville.

Great little room. Nice and clean. Flat screen tv. Free wifi. Cafe down stairs. Pamcakes were awesome from cafe. Only downside was noise from loud guests in hallway and parking is across the road behind a police station. No parking out front to unload luggage due to cars parked. Perfect for our overnight stay.

I like the Madison Plaza because of its relaxed ambience and - it seems nothing is a problem. Whilst its laid back its also well run. A range of guests frequent the Madison. Whilst the decor of the hallways appear dated if looked at sympathetically they could almost be "retro". The dark decor of the rooms reminds me of gentlemens clubs in the UK. They are well furnished and comfortable enough. What you can see is clean. The bathrooms are well supplied and clean. Its well located and a good spot to have as a base. The house keeping staff are helpful cheery and warm. The front office staff are helpful efficient warm and friendly. The only negative would be the dodgy and intermittent Wi-Fi reception. Frustrating at times and reception varies from room to room - this is up to the management to address. Theres no point hassling the front office staff but by all means let them know but they're limited in their capacity to remedy the situation. But that aside its great place to base yourself and good value for money.

Absolutely fantastic service from my initial booking on a popular website. I had questions they were answered promptly and honestly by Paige, even going above and beyond, Paige had a list ready for me upon checking in re my transport options around town. TY Paige. The hotel is boutique, exceptional service at check in (even late at night) TY Jodie. The room was spacious and well appointed, very comfortable and far exceeded my expectations. Congratulations to management and staff.

We stayed here overnight during our trip to the Far North. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was well-presented, clean and comfortable. There is a café downstairs that serves a nice breakfast. Would reccomend to anyone passing through the area.

What a lovely Hotel with all the comforts of home and very modern facilities. The staff were just so lovely and helpful and the complimentary breakfast included is very yummy and nothing was too hard for them. Just a great place to stay!!

The rooms are exactly 4 star accommodations and the service was polite and fast. No mints on the pillows but i'd definitely go there again. Very comfy atmosphere.

Have stayed at Madison (Chiffley) a few times over the years. Place isn't the newest motel, but is very clean. He main season why we stay here is the position. There are many restaurants, pubs in this area. Park the car and walk to restaurants or pub, if you are wanting a couple of drinks.
Cowboys Club and Stadium is walking distance for the Madison.
We'll return!

i have not stayed at this hotel but from what I've heard its a great place for the price as for the pool area smelling of chlorine well thats to be expected with an indoor pool where is it going to get fresh air to ventilate every singe pool I've been to that was indoors had a fairly strong odour of chlorine
