Hotel Grand Chancellor Townsville

I don’t understand why this has a rating of 4.3. This is a wonderful hotel that has welcomed to me many times with clean facilities that always look and smell nice, a great breakfast that is included in the room rate and friendly and welcoming staff. I travel the world and say many hotels around the world and Townsville should feel very lucky to have such a great facility on their doorstep.

I had a great time staying here. The staff went above and beyond with all my requests, the room was fresh and modern, and the location excellent. So great to be right in the middle of Cotters Markets on Sunday morning. I also had the buffet breakfast and it was pretty good for the price. It was full when I arrived though so I would recommend to book if you are thinking about having breakfast there. There are lots of options and the food is constantly topped up.

I was on the 14th floor looking towards Magnetic Island. The room was very comfortable and spacious. I would certainly recommend this hotel as it's on Flinders Street opposite Cowboys Leagues Club.

24 hour reception is really convenient for late night arrivals and early departure.

the lovely ladies at the front desk were so helpful, aoife and anna. parking easy and close to the hotel. room was beautiful with an amazing view. clean pool, great buffet breakfast. loved how quiet it was. will definitely be staying again

We went to the breakfast buffet on our Saturday morning and thoroughly enjoyed relaxing at the hotel and our meal. Really great value at only $19 for locals. There was so much to choose from including continental selection, full hot menu, pastry’s, coffee machine but the freshly made pancakes was the winner! Staff were great and lots of seating options. Will be back again soon.

Stayed here to go to the footy. Great place. Great rooms, right opposite the cowboys club and an easy walk to the stadium. Will stay here again whenever I'm in town.

Interesting. Left a 1 star review 5 hrs ago. Other more recent higher rating reviews appear from 2 hours ago. This hotel chucked an 80 yr old woman out at 12 midnight to sleep in the street without any concern for her safety.

Absolutely incredible hotel. The reception as well as food and beverage staff are second to none, everyone is so friendly and helpful. You’re right opposite the Cowboy’s League Club so if you’re into rugby you are in the perfect spot. The food at the hotel is also amazing, definitely recommend!!

The location is top notch. Accessible to all major outlets and restraunts just on a walking distance.

8 of us had the Buffet breakfast. They accept walk ins you don't have to stay there to dine. Super friendly and helpful staff especially the lady on the front desk at resturant. If you book you can get 19$ ,specials or 25$ if you don't. Value for money could not fault anything. fresh tasty food . Huge variety. Coffee etc included. Definately recommend. Looks like good deals for accommodation too.

Good central location close to cafe's and shops. Excellent service from all Reception staff. Rooms are clean, but starting to look a little tired. However, the sound insulation between the room and the guest corridor is outstanding, allowing uninterrupted sleep. Bathrooms have walk-in showers, and include an assortment of shower products. Ironing board and iron were excellent quality and appeared to be brand new. Very happy overall and will stay here again.

From second one - the staff at The Grand Chancellor were helpful and understanding. I could go on a lot but I'll sum it up. Clean and comfortable room - lovely views. Gorgeous food. Attentive and helpful staff. Guest laundry (free if you have your own washing liquid/powder), gym, 24 hr staff. Not cheap but for what's provided - well worth it!

Nice hotel. Staff are lovely and helpful, always have time to talk to you. View from the roof is beautiful. The pool is nice, usually very quiet. Room service was good, food arrived hot. You can park at the back for 15/20mins for free or pay to park in their garage for $15 a night. Lots of airline staff seem to use this hotel regularly. Make sure to leave a do not disturb/make up my room sign on your door the night before. Our room was reasonable, the sofa in our apartment could do with replacing but otherwise the room was decent. Would stay again, if only for how helpful the staff were

The staff here at The Grand Chancellor are extremely helpful, caring and understanding. There has been a number of times when Aleatha has personally helped me out. I can’t thank her enough for her kindness and support.
The rooms are comfortable and the location is central, walking distance to the strand and ferry terminal to Magnetic Island.

Stayed for an overnight before a roadtrip, all staff we came across were very friendly. The front desk staff were professional and kind, the bar staff were also great. The views from the top are wonderful, especially of a night too. The pool was also on the top level but didn't pay it a visit during our stop. Room was tidy and had enough space for 2 of us in a double bed each. Bathroom was quite nice and roomy too. We had the breakfast included in our stay for the next morning, of which both ladies running it were friendly and helpful. They did well with the current rules in place and serving the food/drinks for everyone. All services were done with a smile and friendly tone, there really was nothing to complain about! I look forward to my next stay here in January!

Very friendly staff, beautiful and comfortable room, great location. The High Cheese at the Sugar Shaker was fabulous! I definitely recommend it!

Excellent accom for a night away for work. Very central and big rooms with a little kitchen. Very clean and maintained. Great coffee shop underneath too

We stayed one night in Hotel Grand Chancellor and I can say that we had a very nice stay there. The staff was very helpful, when we arrived our room was not ready and they asked us for 1 hour, in return they asked us to wait in their lounge area and also gave us (3 members) a breakfast free for next morning. The services , facilities and hotel cleanliness was amazing.
