Waratah on York

We stayed in the three bed apartment and it was fabulous! Very roomy and comfy. Walk downhill to town and the Uni and Parkrun. And then scooter back up, easy and fun. Ten minutes to the gorgeous gorge.

Light from the staircase and upstairs landing a bit intrusive overnight as it shone straight into the huge doorway onto the apartment.

Beautiful room very spacious about a 10 minute uphill moderate walk from town so close but very quiet. Was great for us without a car but all physically fit. Great shower. Would have liked more TV channel choices but has free wifi. Great hot shower with good pressure and nice soaps. Would stay again.

Quiet rooms in heritage hotel. Very comfy. Close to city though up a hill. Opposite the Aquatic Centre which has great breakfasts.

I loved this hotel because my room has a jacuzzi bath. Its good to have a long soak in bath after a tired day. Room is very large and clean
This is the first hotel which provided us 2 bottles of drinking water and a box of milk. All amenities are ready in this hotel too. This hotel can self checked in and checked out

Great value. I would definitely stay here again. We stayed in the King Suite with Spa bath. It was very comfortable and lots of space. Cute little sunroom area to relax. The lady at reception that greeted us was very helpful, gave us a map of the area, and assisted us with dinner recommendations. The hotel is a perfect central location, parking was easy. Only con is there are a lot of stairs, so that might be hard if you have a lot of heavy luggage.

Awesome place to stay, lots of room space and history, lots of stairs, as its on a hill. Would stay here again, good staff, no food available, the views were great.

Beautifully restored mansion in Launceston, now a B&B with all the trappings of yesteryear with luxury in mind. Large beautifully decorated rooms with several overlooking the city. We chose a king size spa suite, room 8 which had a balcony & spectacular views. Waratah on York is a quiet place to stay, only a 2 min walk to City park & across the road from the aquatic centre. Perfectly positioned with only a short walk to town. Very happy with our stay & lovely staff.

What an incredible place to stay in Launceston. Our room was beautiful (King Suite w/ spa) and had SO much more character than your standard hotel - we love that!

The decor is gorgeous and the lovely lady at the front desk was very friendly, giving us advice on where to visit around the area during our stay. Very highly recommended! Amazing start to our honeymoon in tassie.

Lovely heritage building with beautiful, well appointed rooms. Executive spa room was a treat after a 6 day hike. Not particularly close to centre of town but that was a plus for us and the views over the city from the terrace are brilliant.

What an absolutely lovely place to stay. Exceptional service, and clean rooms. The Hostess that greeted us was so lovely and welcoming. A very big thanks for helping my wife's birthday to be a very special day. Highly recommend staying here for comfort and fantastic service and location.

Our family of 4 recently stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment was newly renovated, nicely decorated, clean and very quiet. It was lovely and spacious and nice to retun to after a day of siteseeing. We will definitely recommend staying at Waratah on York and will stay here again on future holidays to Launceston.

Heritage listed colonial style. Spacious room with a king size bed. Sunroom with a private spa. Having spa in a sunny afternoon with a glass of wine is perfect. Privacy won't be a problem.

Great 1st impression that didn’t disappoint. Big rooms, very comfortable beds with soft sheets, super clean and just over all nice with a wow factor. Really good amenities (kitchen, dining & lounge room). My family of 5 enjoyed our 3 day stay and we will 100% stay again.

From the warm and friendly welcome & ongoing wonderful service by the lovely woman in in reception ( from Estonia) to the beautifully presented room, my stay was a delight! Parks, the city centre and gorge were all within walking distance. If you are looking for a quality accomodation with character, charm & exceptional service, this is it. Loved my stay!

Gorgeous! A tad hard to find the first time round as it's down a side narrow steep street bit well worth it. Wouldn't advise it for those without transport as nothing within walking distance. Hotel itself gives off very Edwardian English vibes with high beds and old bathrooms. Very comfy. It was easy to check in and out. Another hotel downs the steps opposite which holds more modern rooms and where breakfast is located in morning. I would say they need to set out the breakfast room a bit better. Quite cramped considering how popular it is. Hotel has all amenities you would need. Only negative really is that Launceston is boring as hell. Everything shuts down at 4pm and there is nothing to do or see really. We were lucky we only came here for the airport convenience.

I booked this hotel at last minute and I'm glad I did. The property is beautiful, located on a high position so the view from the breakfast room is great.
Breakfast is included, cereal, fruit, coffee and also eggs, bacon, spinach, toast you can choose wherever u want or have the whole lot.
Room is so big, very quiet and for some people some parts of the building might look old but for us it adds special character to this hotel.
Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
We will stay there again for sure :)

Absolutely beautiful historical building built on 1861! Very friendly stuff and gave great advice. Room is spacious with modern facilities. Great city view and not to mention and bath tub. I spent my last in Tassie here and wish I could have more time. Highly recommend.

Was a nice cheap clean hotel if you can't do stairs it's not for you and parking with a big car was a bit tricky but close to everything and rooms were very comfy

We wish we could stay more than one night but we will certainly come back here next time!!! The room was furnished so elegantly and the room and bathroom was super clean and bed was so comfy. So amazing our experience with the property! Cannot wait to come back
