Short Beach Hobart Tasmania

Not recommended for humans to swim here ! I’m not certain how resistant dogs are to this sort of bacteria . Considering they laugh at botulism that can kill humans I’d guess they may be ok. Maybe ask your local vet .

You wouldn’t catch me swimming here but it is a nice place to exercise your puppies !

As a tourist in Tassie, this little beach was amazing for photography. I found it walking down from My Nelson to Sandy Bay. I doubt that this will be read by many tourists anywho so enjoy the photos 😁

Tidy little dog friendly beach. Shame about the big dog’s owner that let his beast attack a little dog that was there and rather than apologise he just ignored it and then when confronted he just laughed at them.

A lovely little local beach. Every time I went late afternoon there was a cool onshore breeze.
It is a dog beach - they were always well behaved when I was there, and their owners kept an eye on them, but if you don't like dogs keep this in mind.
A sandy beach, grassed area and benches to sit on all add up to a great spot to sit and enjoy watching the small boats bobbing up and down.
It's right next to the rowing club, which is in turn next to the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania, which in turn is next to the Derwent Sailing club, so if you like boats you'll definitely love dropping your anchor here!

Since 1996,when i moved to Sandy Bay,I have been walking there. Either alone,with one of my 7 children,friends,or the dog. I ALWAYS enjoy it. Its turned into a tradition in our family. Try it ........

Awesome all day off lead beach.

It is what is named... but clean and user friendly.

It's always lovely sitting down there watching all the dogs and children playing, while enjoying the sunset

Peaceful. great for a sit on the bench and looking out onto the water at the boats with a book or taking your dog for short walk or splash.

Nice little dog Park, kids playground and public toilets..

This is a place where you can take your puppy and obviously plenty of space for children for their play

Family friendly ... dog friendly ... play area ... calm clean water ... lots of seats and parking ♡

Lovely place for kids and quick jog/ walk. I go quite often.

We loved it. Dogs. Stingrays. Sea Stars. Flathead. BBQ. Restrooms. Lots of fun for family.

This is a fantastic place to take the dog to have a meet and greet or a bum handshake.
