Project Black Specialty Coffee

I visited Project Black after reading a review in Broadsheet about it. It did not disappoint! The coffee is consistently amazing! I travel 2-3 suburbs just to get a coffee here when I can! It’s the best coffee I’ve ever had in Melbourne!

The staff at this family-run business are incredibly friendly and welcoming. It’s a pleasure to go there every single time. I cannot recommend Project Black more highly! A+++

Such a lovely cafe, adding some trendy vibes to Mitcham. Located just outside Coles, this place is prefect for a post-shopping break.

Coffee is consistently smooth and the milk temperature is prefect. Guest blend Raspberry Candy is a must try - it won the World Barista Champion in 2015. The owners are big coffee fans and spend a lot of time procuring the best specialty coffee blends.

The brunch board was delicious, eggs poached to perfection. Their croissants and doughnuts are made by French chefs and freshly baked on site every morning. The apple doughnut is light and fluffy, not overly sweet.

This is definitely the best coffee in Mitcham!

This tiny little cafe packs a heap of character. Despite having a very limited kitchen the team here manage to turn out some amazing dishes that are incredibly creative and delicious. Plus parking is very easy in the nearby Coles parking.

Definitely my favourite cafe in town! Very friendly staffs with warm atmosphere. I can tell that the owner treats every customer as his friend.

A small local cafe. A hidden gem. Excellent coffee and food. Though the food came slow, I was impressed with how they could prepare the meals in a very tiny kitchen.

Great little coffee spot in Mitcham. See a few reviews complaining about the food, don’t think the food is an issue if you’re realistic about your expectations given the size of the cafe. I’m glad Project Black has some food options when you want to have a sit down coffee and a bite to eat but if you’re after a fancy brunch this is probably not the place for that. What it is is a reliably great cup of coffee in a really convenient location that’s been a great addition to Brittania Mall in Mitcham.

Some of the best coffee in Melbourne. DELICIOUS food that came out quickly. And a friendly, family vibe. Hospitality perfection meets family environment.

Short macchiato was spot on. Really enjoyed the red velvet lamington too. Glad I was able to sit outside (still being covid cautious). I live a bit far away to come here regularly but will definitely come here again when in the area.

I haven’t been back in a while as we moved house during the pandemic, but I miss the coffee! Always a great cup of coffee met with friendly faces and enthusiasm for coffee. Highly recommend, run by a family who work very hard to provide the community with quality coffee.
