I was skeptical and didn’t want to be influenced by the hype.
But FMD, it’s bigger than big and more pineapply than possible. A MUST SEE when in the southern hemisphere.

I grew up in Moonee Ponds and I came back for a visit last week with my girlfriend (not from the area). I showed her my childhood favourite, The Big Pineapple, it was amazing to see that it's still alive and kicking. Putting Moonee Ponds on the map.

When I arrived, it could be seen in the distance, drawing our attention like nothing else in Moonee Ponds. It was big and bold and beautiful.

I'm so proud to call Moonee Ponds my childhood home and The Big Pineapple encapsulates that in entirety.

10/10 - The Big Pineapple should be a Moonee Valley Counsil landmark. I propose we should have The Big Pineapple Day with a band and all sorts, so the younger generation can understand the importance of this. Us 2000's kids truly understand how amazing this tree is.

I Flew 8 hours to see this amazing work of art. Should be declared as a UNESCO world heritage site. A must see

There is my life before and after the Moonee Ponds Big Pineapple. Life changing experience, gave me the confident to ask out that girl, now my wife. Made me go by apple stock, and cured my cancer.

I count this in the top 5 experiences that I've had this month. A must see jewel of Moonee Ponds.

wait time was appalling and alongside feeling mislead by the promise of a pineapple, i was left with mild disappointment.

what however uplifted this experience was the surrounding garden and architecture. in addition, i thoroughly enjoyed the tour.

If you come to vist then come early, the line up is huge, and ticket prices fluctuate depending on the size of the pineapple each day.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I arrived at the location, only to be greeted by a short tree, attempting to pass itself off as a monumental pineapple. It was an insult to the genuine landmark that resides in Nambour.

Not only does this feeble imitation lack the architectural grandeur and historical significance of the original Big Pineapple, but it also fails to capture the essence and spirit of the real thing. The Big Pineapple in Nambour has a rich history, serving as an iconic tourist attraction for decades, while offering visitors an immersive experience through its pineapple-themed park, wildlife encounters, and educational exhibits. In comparison, Monee Ponds' so-called "Big Pineapple" offers nothing but a mere glimpse of a short, overgrown tree.

To add salt to the wound, the marketing and promotion surrounding this faux landmark are incredibly misleading. Online descriptions and other reviews make it sound like you'll be visiting a replica of the Nambour icon, complete with the same charm and allure. It's nothing short of a cheap trick to lure unsuspecting tourists into wasting their time on an underwhelming tree sighting.

It's clear that Monee Ponds' Big Pineapple is a prime example of false advertising and a blatant attempt to capitalize on the fame of the genuine article. As someone who appreciates authentic landmarks and cultural treasures, I find it deeply frustrating and disheartening to encounter such deceit.

Save yourself the disappointment and avoid this sham of a tourist attraction. If you want to experience the true grandeur of the Big Pineapple, make your way to Nambour, where you'll find the real deal. Don't be fooled by imitations; opt for authenticity and the real magic of a genuine landmark experience.
