Castletown Fish & Chips

This would have to be hands down one of the best fish and chips shops we have been too. Family of 5 2 grown up children and one 12 year old 2 adults and we had plenty. No the serves aren’t huge but definitely perfect for our family. Fresh not greasy definitely recommend this place

This is a remarkable find, reminding us of the ‘old’ Fish Kitchen in Brisbane. Exquisitely prepared and presented fish & chips with the most fresh and sumptuous salad you can imagine. Thank you for making our night out so memorable.

The gummy tastes fresh and flaky not rubbery like some places using from frozen. Homemade dim sims are unique and very tasty! Potato cakes little undercooked for my preference. Chips have a good texture. Went back a couple times I would recommend.

Quite simply the best fish and chips - and as my husband said "restaurant quality". We were staying at Island View apartments and felt like some fish and chips. Other places were closed, thankfully, and so we went to Castletown Fish & Chips. Sensational, best of the best.

The fish we had was snapper, beautifully cooked and tasty. And the chips were beer batter and great tasting (not old oil).

Arrived in Esperance after a long drive from Perth and asked a local for the best fish and chips in town. Castletown Fish & Chips were recommended. We were really happy with the snapper and red emperor and chips. Quality, taste, presentation and service was really good. The shop was really clean too and no old oil smell that you sometimes get in this type of shop. Well done crew!!!

No idea what on earth some of these reviews are about, just here to say that was one of the best fish and chips we’ve had in a long time!!! The squid strips, onion rings and pineapple fritters get a special mention, and the chips super crispy and can taste they are cooked in clean oil! Thank you for a delicious after swim dinner guys! We will be back for sure next time we are in town 😊

Best fish and chips in WA hands down, if not the whole of Australia. We were recommended this place by the locals and I cannot rave about them enough. Customer service is 💯% amazing & friendly. The fish was fresh, cooked perfectly and the batter wasn’t to thick or too thin it was a cooked to a beautiful golden brown. The chips weren’t soggy or over cooked like most places and it wasn’t greasy at all. Thanks guys well done and keep up the awesome work 🐟 🍟 I can’t wait to come back here and get some decent fish and chips.

The very best fish and chips that we have had the pleasure to eat. No after taste from cheap oil and good quality fish with large servings. I like the use of solid cardboard boxes which help to keep the chips crispy.
I wish that it was in my home town.

Super quick service as other places in Esperance was getting packed. It was getting late (730pm) and these guys were awesome. I had the grilled red emperor fish and chips combo! Super tasty and chips were seasoned well. Definitely coming back here

It's rare I leave reviews for anything but I'll make an exception. I wanted Fish and Chips for dinner and asked at least 10 people where was the best place in town was. Everyone said this place. After finishing my meal, I can safely say this is the best Fish and Chips in the State. If you don't get your Fish and Chips here your only robbing yourself of decent portions and the best cooked battered fish.

Best fish and chips I've had for ages. Fresh top quality local seafood to buy and take home or get them to cook it for you... Melts in your mouth. Fantastic service, and a really lovely guy running it.

The chips are so crisp, and potato cakes or scallops depending on region you are from
are so crunchy battered perfect. No cooking oil taste always clean oil.

As Canadians who live on the West coast of Canada and are traveling the world, we have tried a lot of fish and chips. We even tried a place in Albany voted the best fish and chips in Australia. None of them come even close to Rick's at Castletown. The fish is sooooo fresh, the chips are crispy and everything is great. We wish we could take Rick and his restaurant with us on our travels. Thanks for taking such good care of us Rick!!

Quick service and food was non greasy and tasty. I had fish bites and chips and a pineapple fritter which was plenty for 1 person. Price was very reasonable for what I had.

Amazing fish and chips - couldn’t get through on phone so hubby went down and ordered and true to their word only took 15 mins. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for delish fish and chips.
