Turtle Lookout

Turtle Lookout is a must-visit! We had an incredible time doing the summit trail, and the view from the top was simply breathtaking.

The hiking experience was exhilarating, and the trail was well-maintained, making the journey enjoyable for both beginners and experienced hikers. As we climbed higher, we were rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

The highlight, of course, was reaching the summit. The feeling of accomplishment coupled with the awe-inspiring scenery made it an unforgettable moment. We even had the chance to spot some wildlife along the way, which added to the excitement of the adventure.

Turtle Lookout truly offers a unique and magical experience. Whether you're a nature lover, a photography enthusiast, or simply seeking a memorable outdoor activity, this place won't disappoint.

If you're in the area, I highly recommend visiting Turtle Lookout and taking on the summit trail. It's an amazing journey that will leave you with lasting memories of the natural beauty of the location.

What a great walk, am a little out of shape but enjoyed every step, up up and around, great views and has toilets and BBQ area too. Great for all ages to push yourself or just lay back with friends and family.

Great walk, fabulous views. We didn't see any turtles but the regular views more than make up for it.

Great short walk to see the coastline littered with post volcanic rocks and surprised to see lots of turtles swimming in the waters below!

Great views, and if you are patient will actually see a turtle. Also came across a couple of tree snakes on the path coming down .

A nice walk. The walkway is paved but obviously you have to go up high to get to the lookout so there are alot of steps to get up there.
Unfortunately we were there after some rain so we didn't get to see any turtles.

A great view and turtles normally visible if you're patient, but only pop up for a few seconds at a time before they dive again.

Access from the road is past the nearby public toilet and down the gravel drive to a small carpark. Then walk either ~700m steep ascent with lots of steps, or ~1.3km more gentle slope around the bluff circuit track. We chose the steep option and it was easily handled by a 3yo.

High chance of seeing turtles just offshore.
