Summers Archery - Bow tuning Brisbane

I recently got back into Bowhunting & 3D after a huge break due to injury. A mate I know, Jacko, referred me to Ian @ Summers Archery. I gave Ian a call and from speaking with him about what I would like, I chose a Matthew’s Lift 33, and we built on that and Ian made a Bow, Tuned it and Sent it down. From first Shot it was amazing, no buzz in hand at all, super quiet, and 1st, 2nd & 3rd Axis was tuned to perfection. I met Ian following weekend and he adjusted a couple of minor things and I started to shoot the Bow in. I’ve now put upward of 500 Arrows through it, little 1% adjustments, but all add up to how accurate and comfortable the Bow is to Shoot. Called Ian and told him how happy I was with his Build and how the Bows performing is testament to how well it was Tuned. Speaking with Ian was like talking to a good mate, his advice and knowledge is second to none, he listens to what you want, then gives his advice and explains why you should or shouldn’t make a change here or there. This makes a huge difference in what you finally order and the outcome to suit what your Bows intended use is for.
This was the first time ordering a Bow from Ian who owns Summers Archery Solutions, if your after a New Bow, Rebuild or anything to do with Archery, I cannot recommend Ian enough and would recommend anyone from Beginner to Pro Shooter to make Summers Archery your one stop shop!

Ian Summers is not your standard run of the mill bow technician. The level of workmanship, care and passion this man has for what he does is a one hundred levels above anything I have encountered. Ian went above and beyond with every aspect of my visit with him. I had a gigantic pile of questions which he happily and expertly answered. The information this man holds in his brain has come from a lifetime of living and breathing archery. Not only is this man a wizard with bows of every shape and size he is one of the nicest men you will ever come across. As long as he is still tuning bows, I will be a customer. If you need any work done to your bow go and see the archery wizard.

Cant go wrong with Ian. If you have just bought a bow and it is "tuned" from the shop, Summers Archery will save you the grief of chasing your tail to get close to that bullet arrow flight from a bow that hasn't been set-up correctly.
This will save you hours of wasted time fiddling around adjusting, and second guessing your bow, when you could be concentrating on technique. (and enjoying a new bow!)

For guys with more experience he can also add multiple of those 1% incremental improvements to your gear and form corrections to maximise your skill/accuracy.

I have been shooting a compound bow for the last 4+years. Within our session I gained a lot of knowledge of what muscles to isolate to improve a better shot process. This has allowed me to have more confidence within my bow setup and execute an ethical shot.

I can’t recommend Ian enough! If you struggle like I do to tune a bow just send it to Summers archery and get it done properly the first time. Ian is very generous with sharing his knowledge and making sure you understand where your going wrong and how to fix it. If your a bow hunter make sure to check out his broadheads too, you won’t be disappointed. Very happy customer.

Ian is amazing, A life time of experience and passion is what is translated into the quality of work produced, anything i had questions about he could answer with in-depth knowledge and a number of sources as well as followup information when i was skeptical. I ordered a new string/cable and made some new arrows as I wanted a proper tune. Since getting setup and service by Ian have never shot better or with more confidence. I could not recommend a better person to see when it comes to anything bow related and he's a top bloke too.

Recently had to change some strings and cables on my Hoyt rx4 ultra. I'm from west Australia and was able to give summers archery a call and he was super helpful and helped me get my bow shooting the best it ever has!!

Ian is by far the best in the business. He really took his time to get everything on my Mathew perfect as well as correcting my form and helping me with my target panic.

Finding good bow technicians isn't easy, but if you're here your search is over. Ian did a great job working with suppliers to replace my damaged bow, including moving all my accessories to the new bow, getting it shooting bullet holes and fitting it to me on pickup. Highly recommended - with 6 compound bows in the family I'll be back for sure!

I just had my bow tuned by Ian. Wonderful job. Learnt a lot. Also got him to build some arrows for me. Not cheap but given the quality delivered, i can't complain. Highly recommended

I highly recommend Ian, both as a bow “mechanic” and as an archery coach - and he’s a super nice guy to boot. He has many years of archery experience and really knows his stuff. He fine-tuned my bow to its very best and is helping me with my form, etc. My 2-blade broadheads now finally fly exactly like my field tips. Wish I’d known about Ian when I started out!

I live in Darwin and where there is no archery store to have your bow worked on or tuned so I purchased a bow press off Ian so I could learn to work on my own gear.
