Brisbane Square Library

We love visiting this library with its multi-level, city views and spacious design. There are pop up exhibitions, writer’s readings, book launches, STEM activities, workshops and so much more on offer. The children’s section is so inviting and there are games on offer for the children. The staff are so helpful and approachable. Borrowing and returns are also fully automated now so you can self-serve through the process. If you haven’t downloaded the Library app, I highly recommend it as you can place books on hold as well renew them through the app. It makes the entire process so convenient.

Visitors who don't have a library card can use study room. (But, in advance, you need to write your name on the time table set in front of study rooms.)
There are free English conversation events twice a week.

As far as amenities go for a common library the Brisbane Square Library is one that's hard to beat, mostly due to the architectural design and the availability of windows for the study area. The entire library has a bright open plan feel without too many shelves cluttering the space. Die-hards may disagree and say there'snot enough books for such a large library but Ithink it evokes a very welcoming ambience. Wisely, the study chairs located on the second floor hug the perimeter of the floor space. The windows are artfully arranged in angular geometric patterns which afford every third seat a view of the Brisbane River. Not everyone gets a window seat however that is not always a requirement. Obviously some students don't want the added distraction of the sunny outdoors when they have serious study to attend to. For my tastes and purposes this is a building that I feel most comfortable in, which is more than I can say about 99% of the constrictions in the rest of the city.

Many books and activities. They have section for great books to be borrowed for 7 days only. Not recommend to travel to here by car as you will not have public parking. I parked in casino nearby which costed $50 for 40 minutes.

I went to the Brisbane City Council customer service centre and was greeted by an extremely friendly and helpful lady who helped me register my new puppy. The whole experience couldn't have gone smoother and I really appreciate the help 👍

Very popular, large CBD library. WiFi and computers available including scanners and printing. Reading and work areas on various levels, very helpful staff.

A safe space, my favourite library. The heart of Brisbane.

So many spaces to sit & read, with no rush. Computers available with assistance never far away. Easy look-up and borrowing systems & the benefit of bring central to the city as well as nice cafes and public transport. Even has a separate children's section which can be a great way to introduce your kids to reading, without having to pay a thing (!) Plus multiple meeting rooms of various sizes and the whole place is air-conditioned and such a lovely reprieve from a bustling city / life.

Big library nice staff it should be open 24/7 all libraries should as a safe haven for those in need and you know introverts

Huge, large library. Very nice, very stylish and with lots of plants inside😍, love it🥰. The library has more levels and on the second and third level, you can some good views of the Victoria Bridge and can take some interesting photos. The library has lots-lots-lots of books even lots of manga and has lots of space for reading or studying plus computers which you can use.

21/4/22 Today at around 3:30pm I needed to scan something at the library and had a wonderful and simple experience thanks to the lovely staff member that was working near the computers today. This friendly staff member provided great customer service and let me borrow a pen! It was very evident to me that she loves her job as well as helping people as she very kind to all of us in the area. Thankyou :)
