Merne at Lighthouse

Amazing experience. Staff were very knowledgeable and attentive. Owners were kind and knew what wines to pair with our food. We even got an uber from the Lake and Railway Guesthouse. Caleb and Sharon congratulations on such a great restaurant. See you again very soon!

Amazing food, really rounded meal, great textures and purées, vegetables and nuts featured on every bite, great value, amazing hospitality. Braised kangaroo has been on the menu for 8 years, it’s so good it will be on the menu for another 80 years. The staff were so welcoming, we had memorable lunch which we are still talking about (and will continue to mention to each other/ dream about)!

We feel like we are now part of the Merne family. Sharon, Caleb and the team at Merne were all outstanding. Our experience was completely flawless from the first moment we toured the venue, to the end of our wedding day. The food is incredible, the wedding package is generous, staff are experienced and the guidance from Sharon ensured everything was thought through and there were no unexpected expenses or surprises. Merne was very generous with their inclusions, which every other venue we considered charged separately for. The venue felt welcoming and our guests could not stop talking about how much they loved the food. Although we’ll only have one wedding, we will absolutely return time and time again for lunch and dinner! Thank-you so much.

I live to eat and this has been the best lunch menu we had in a long time. Nothing to fault. Everything was perfect. From the menu to the whole team there. Thank you to be so nice and welcoming and having made us have an amazing lunch. We definitely are going to put Merne at lighthouse as one of our preferred places for special occasions.

I'm a marriage celebrant and married a gorgeous couple there on recently. I loved absolutely everything at Merne.
From the stunning Olive grove, outdoor Ceremony amongst the native bush, this is such a special and unique place.
The hospitality and tremendous effort from Caleb, Sharon and staff really made everyone feel special and welcomed.
The Food, was AMAZING!!! Every dish was superb!

My favorite place to dine. Have been going there for many years and the quality of the food and service has always been consistently amazing. Caleb is always warm and welcoming and nothing is too much for him to make sure your experience is always A1. If you haven’t been to this amazing restaurant before, put it on your list you won’t be disappointed. Keep up the great work Caleb and team, I plan on seeing you for many years to come 💜💜

Merne is a must visit. Everything is top quality from the second you walk into the restaurant. The food blew me away with its depth of flavour and having each meal described to us prior to eating gave us a greater sense of what we were eating and a better appreciation for the flavours.

Seriously good food and value. Exceptional service with the perfect balance between fancy and casual dining. Stuffed in the best way!

Highly recommend a visit to Merne it's a bit expensive but it truly is a dining experience. The food was amazing the service outstanding and the views spectacular. Give yourselves a treat and visit Merne you won't regret it ❤ 😊

We had a fantastic experience at Mende. I am vegetarian and was catered to with a unique variation of each meat dish. I wasn’t expecting this so was very pleasantly surprised! I also love that Merle update their menu seasonally based on local availability.

I love hidden gems and Merne at Lighthouse doesn’t disappoint. We were welcomed with warmth and ease. The dining area is cosy and relaxed encasing grand windows overlooking a verdant view. The shared style dining was perfect for me and my partner. We thoroughly enjoyed the contemporary, hearty flavours and textures entertaining our taste buds. Cheers to Chef, Josh Smiths’ creation.

Absolutely excellent! We went for lunch yesterday for our wedding anniversary and absolutely loved it. The service is excellent, the food absolutely delicious and the wine and drinks list was fantastic. We loved how some of the by the glass wines were offered by Coravin and the glassware was Riedel. We opted for the 2-course menu and added on dessert which took 3 hours to get through, therefore make sure you set aside enough time to fully enjoy the experience and all the deliciousness they offer at Merne.

I have been lucky enough to photograph weddings at Merne and oh man is it stunning, it's an absolute dream to photograph, oh and the food is ridiculously good. (I need to go back for a meal asap) You and your guests will have such a kickass day, do not hesitate to book this venue for your wedding :)

A long lunch with many cleverly curated ingredients skilfully combined, prepared and plated. The service was impeccable, the views relaxing, and the space was warm and welcoming. Every dish was delicious, but these were amazing:
• Smoked swordfish, apple, turnip, fingerlime Octopus, chorizo, kipfler, paprika, grapefruit
• Kangaroo, buckwheat, parsley, pecorino, pickled walnut
• Rainbow trout, witlof, honey, walnut
• Jerusalem artichoke, goat curd, celery, radicchio, treacle.

Had a friend’s wedding here recently, and cannot recommend it enough. Besides the beautiful winery/grounds, the venue was also amazing - great food, friendly service, and a fantastic vibe.
Great for lunch or dinner, as well as a special event.
