Dr Edward Cleland - ONE FACE

Had a septorhinoplasty with Dr Cleland in December. After two unsuccessful surgeries with other surgeons I saw Dr Cleland about fixing my crooked nose and breathing issues.

Dr Cleland was informative and knowledgeable. The results are great - nose is straight, natural, balanced and I can breathe well. Glad I ended up in his care.

I note some unfavorable reviews about admin saff. My experience was good and I found the staff helpful. It seems some new staff have come on board in the last six months due to experienced staff being on leave. Some reviews were a bit too critical in my opinion based on this fact. But maybe these reviewers weren't aware of these circumstances.

Anyway, I highly recommend Dr Cleland for any functional or cosmetic rhinoplasty. Couldn't be happier with the results and process.

Dr Cleland is a master of his craft. I first visited his clinic back when I was just 16, booking a consultation after having stumbled upon him via a Google search. I was desperate to see any professional about my nose. I had a severely deviated septum, which not only caused breathing difficulties, but also was my biggest insecurity that affected my confidence throughout my entire adolescence. My nose was simply detracting from my beauty. It was an aesthetic issue, there was no other way to put it. Anyone who told me I looked "fine" was obviously not being truthful.

Due to having to wait until I turned 18 to be able to undergo the surgery, and then COVID as well as other personal circumstances, it ended up being 4 years since the initial consultation that I was able to finally be scheduled for surgery in June this year.

And now, all I can say is WOW. I could never even imagine the feeling of liking my nose, but I absolutely LOVE it and my life has improved remarkably because of the confidence that has been given back to me. I was left with a beautiful result in which the natural structure of my nose has been retained, but now being free of a deviated septum. I now truly and finally appreciate the beauty of the rest of my features with a nose that aesthetically compliments and fits my face without the distraction of the deviated septum.

In just days after the surgery, I was already able to tell that the result was successful, and I was overcome by emotions every time I looked at my nose, crying tears of happiness and telling my friends and family that I believe Dr Cleland is a wizard who has created a divine work of art. They may have laughed and thought I was exaggerating, but I still say this 2 months after the surgery and without the influence of anaesthesia or pain medications. One friend was so amazed with how my nose looked that she asked me who the surgeon was so that she could book a consultation.

Recovery went incredibly smoothly with zero complications or concerns. I am so grateful that I found Dr Cleland through the Google search that day in 2019. I believe that nothing is a coincidence and that I was guided to be put in good hands of the best expertise. As soon as I walked into the clinic, I felt at ease and knew Dr Cleland would be the one I could trust to fix the problem which caused me this incredible distress throughout my life. And I was completely right, because the whole experience has been nothing other than wonderful, and in my eyes, perfect.

I will forever be grateful to Dr Cleland. His work has given me a newfound sense of confidence which has already helped to make a difference in all aspects of my life immensely. It is truly underestimated what confidence does to improve the quality of your life, even if it is just changing one thing in order to be happy with your appearance.

So again, thank you for being part of this journey of mine.

Dr Cleland has given me confidence I never thought I’d get back! From the initial consultation, he was very thorough and I felt comfortable in his hands. I had a crooked and wide nose, which made me extremely self conscious. The surgery went well with hardly any bruising and no pain, and I now have a straight nose. I highly recommend Dr Cleland!!!

When I looked in the mirror, I saw a better version of myself.
There was a time when I wasn't confident in myself due to my nose, I was 14 years old when I discovered how much I disliked it. However, it took me a long time to get the motivation to do something about it.
Doctor Cleland has gained my trust since our first consultation. He took some pictures, he showed me a 3D simulation, and he explained to me how the surgery and recovery work.
I had a great experience before and after the surgery, the hospital staff, nurses, doctors, and anesthesiologist were all excellent.
During my day surgery, the procedure took about 2h30 hours, plus a few hours before and after. The doctor instructed me on what to do after surgery, and I was lucky not to have bruises or pain afterward. The feeling was more like having a big cold with stuffy nose.
One week after the surgery, when the doctor removed the cast, my nose was obviously swollen, but I waited patiently to give it some time. After 2 months, I have a stunning, natural-looking nose. It is still slightly swollen, but is already in good shape.
I'm so happy now that my profile has a nice appearance and I just love it.
I cannot thank Dr. Cleland and his assistant Charlee enough for making my dream come true.
As a person who fears their nose, I want to share my experience with anyone who feels the same way, to hopefully give them confidence with their noses. I know that it might be difficult but give it a try, the doctor is really professional and can discuss with you the best option.

Can not recommend Dr Cleland more! He was willing to treat me for a very rare condition of the nose, and he has a very good mannerism.

I contacted Dr Cleland and the receptionist Charlee as I haven't been able to breathe through my nose properly for the last 2 years.

I am awestruck by the exemplary service I have been provided.

On first contact, Charlee was friendly and personable. I've interacted with many receptionists. However in this case, I felt incredibly welcomed by Charlee . Their communication, friendliness and empathy are second-to-none and would be an asset to any business or employment field.

This welcoming approach continued in my interaction with Dr Cleland, who is informative, transparent and extremely efficient.

From the beginning, I could already tell that I was in safe and effective hands under Dr Cleland's medical management.

Dr Cleland comes HIGHLY recommended by all my peers, many of who are in the medical field.

Edward is a super nice guy and is arguably the best ENT in Adelaide. Fixed my nose and breathing issues and Charlie was great in the background sorting out billing stuff.

Dr Cleland was very professional but also treated my little girl with empathy. She was a terrible snorer and could hardly breathe through her nose. Dr Cleland assures me she was in good hands and the surgery has helped my daughter in so many ways.

Dr Cleland addressed my concerns and did complete assessment of my Tinnitus and Rhinitis on my second visit to my satisfaction. He also suggested some preventive therapies to manage symptoms. Very knowledgeable

I’m just going to leave this review as a way to inform other people because most of these reviews aren’t very detailed or realistic. I don’t intend any malice by this, but I hope it can help someone else. I will choose to remain anonymous.

First of all, I’ve seen several reviews praising Charlee (assistant) and putting her on an extremely high pedestal stating that she was very helpful. However, she was extremely dismissive and lacked communication skills. She basically ‘threw’ the forms at me and returned to typing on her laptop. She was blunt and didn’t take the time to communicate the nexts steps of the process. This leaves you feel quite confused and unwanted.

Now for Dr. Edward. There’s no doubt that he is intelligent and gifted at his craft. However, he is prone to stereotyping, being blunt, dismissive, demeaning, patronising, cold, and sarcastic. I didn’t find the process to be very welcoming at all. Especially in a situation where you might feel vulnerable and open up. However, he does listen quite well. But if you have concerns, he might mock you or brush them off, instead of acknowledging/understanding them. If you have a specific vision in mind, he’s likely to dismiss it as well in a subliminal way. Next, a lot of key factors weren’t discussed during the consultation and it leaves you confused and lost. There’s a lack of guidance and direction. You feel like they want you out the door ASAP. That might be because the consultation is only half and hour, which is insufficient to answer all your questions or concerns.

Overall, it was extremely unwelcoming. During the consultation, you already feel vulnerable and hope that your surgeon can show a sense of understanding towards your situation. But instead you’re treated like a joke. I recommend finding another surgeon and team.

I’m not sure about Dr Cleland’s skill as his totally inept reception staff poorly managed my appointment.
I was required to pay a deposit for cancellation, however my appointment was cancelled the day before by the receptionist.
When I arrived for my rescheduled appointment I was asked if had completed the online form. First I had heard of this, so while waiting I was required to fill in the form on my phone.
I was called in for my appointment before I had completed the form.
Following my appointment I had to contact the practice to ask for my follow up information.
This was sent via email in an unformatted layout and was very generic, not reflective of a $300 appointment.
This was a highly personal decision and a significant cost. I certainly expected a great deal more.

Not a great experience, trying a new surgeon

Doctor didn't even explain me wha kind of disease I have. Actually I had meniere disease and he said that he don't have any treatment to fix it but I approached another ENT specialist and they give proper treatment and solved the problem. If I rely on him I might still live with that disease. Highly disappointed with the doctor Edward.
