I have only been here to purchase hot pies or sausage rolls for smoke times, which are very tasty .
Have yet to purchase any meats for work BBQ or just a treat.
Products on display are very good

I've been on the hunt for a good pie for awhile and whilst I have had a few OK ones, nothing really blew me away. That was until I tried the pies here. Ordered the Mexican chilli beef and the lamb curry pies. Everything about these pies were perfect. The crust was flaky, crisp and tasty. The bottom wasn't soggy. Crystal to meat ratio was perfect. This pie is stuffed full of pure yum, there's no mucking around here, good lean chunks of meat flavoured to perfection. I was beyond stoked to find this place I reckon its a hard one to beat!!

The thick bacon make our thai style pasta so delicious! They are super crunchy and crispy on skin when you fry!

Okay so this butcher has it all. They have pies,pasties and Pork as well as beef, chicken and lamb.
The meat they sell is always extremely fresh and absolutely delicious. I love the fact that the people who work there know about the meat, where and how it's delivered and what the animals are fed. Any questions you have about the meat will be answered in a friendly and clear way.
Let's talk about the pies and pasties:
The cornish pasties are fantastic they have a great flavour and a fantastic Aussie twist, by adding carrots and peas.
The pies are great, all the pastry is made there,these are people who clearly know what they are doing.

I'm unsure about the meat because I have only had a pie from here. And struth it was a good pie, I enjoyed that pie. Unsure if they make them their but it was a good one, thanks!

Ordered smoked bacon from them and I would say it's the best bacon I ever had.

We are lucky enough to have Griffith Butchery at our local shopping centre, but I would travel across town to come here if I had to.
The produce is exceptional - lamb, sausages, beef, chicken, pork, schnitties, smoked meats, pies, stock (and the best duck fat for our roast potatoes!) - the quality never disappoints.
The service is second to none - nothing is ever too much trouble for Richard, Tim, Mike and the rest of the team who feel like part of the family, and no matter how busy they are, the staff are always friendly.
I would give them more than 5 stars if I could.

They answered the phone when I called! Not all butchers do - I called at least 15 butchers before I got to Griffith Butcher.
They know their cuts and are culturally aware, preparing authentic cuts of beef and Sausage (Asado and FRESH Chorizo) at reasonable prices.
I live in Tuggeranong but will travel to get quality meat and service with a smile.

I haven't tried every pie shop in Canberra and had settled on the Ngunnawal bakery as my fav but then i tried some here as they had lofty claims of "best pies."
I bought 4 including chilli beef and curried lamb so had 2 for lunch.
The pastry was sky high and cooked perfectly.. NOT but "almost" burnt giving crispiness and flavour.
The fillings were DEVINE and I can't rate one over the other..they were both so good! The lady who served me was pleasant and informative and the fact this is also a butchery gives one confidence on the source of the meat. If you haven't already you must must try these pies and in the famous line from Arnie...."I'll be back!"

Awesome meats. My wife and I are grain free and they have saved us. Our favourites are chicken kebabs, pork and the thick beef sausages and the burgers are to die for. The customer service from, Richard, Tim, Mike and crew are sensational. We are life time customers. Best butcher in Canberra bar none.

I discovered Griffith Butcher many years ago (15-20) and have been a loyal customer ever since, even though I now live over 50 kilometres away! Their superb quality meats, excellent service and friendly and knowledgeable staff are without comparison.

We love their preservative-free options (my partner is allergic), the wide variety, the ethical farming standards and the homemade pastries. Our pets adore the kangaroo meat and the pet mince, and the sausages are brilliant!

For us, it's one-stop for ALL meat-related shopping.

Every year Griffith bakery do the best smoked ham ever. It wouldn't be true Christmas without one. All their cuts of meat are first class. We highly recommend. 5 stars & two thumbs up 👍👍🏼

I travel a fair way to shop here. They have beef sausages with 10% beef liver mixed in, so nutritious but without the organ meat taste. I also love that they carry local free range eggs and a great selection of smoked meat and bone broth. Worth the drive, worth the money for quality meat.

Griffith Butchery is the best butcher I have ever been to. Top quality meat, excellent customer service and sausages made without preservatives! I also appreciate staff who are more than happy to share their knowledge about meats/cooking etc.

As someone who suffers from a severe allergy to preservatives, I am so happy to find a butcher shop that doesn’t use preservatives (with a few exceptions such as bacon).

And contrary to a previous comment, I would not write a positive review just for a bit of free steak.

Griffith Butchery is the real deal.

When I arrived in Canberra I drove around town trying to find the best butcher. As a recovering vegetarian I live on mostly meat and animal products, avoid grains and sugar and my health has improved immensely as a result. Because I eat a lot of meat I try to get the very best quality possible, mainly grass fed beef and beef liver. I tried many butchers around town and eventually located Griffith Butcher. Their meat tastes the best, is locally sourced, they have great products and the service is outstanding. Great meat for everyone and a MUST visit for any carnivore.

We have been visiting the Griffith butcher for many years to buy the best meat in south Canberra. Their sausages are some of the best you will taste. Pork ribs are consistently juicy and delicious. Scotch fillet is freshly sliced and tender. Roast cuts never fail to deliver. The lamb noisette roast has become a family favourite. Their award winning bacon and also pepperoni is well worth a try. You won’t be disappointed! Richard, Tim, Mike and the team will look after you.

Each week I drive 30km each way to do my food shopping at Griffith: the best little shopping centre for food, and the best butcher in Canberra. Their meat pies are unbelievably good and the quality very consistent. I always keep 2 or 3 in my fridge because you never know when they'll be needed or when I'll be tempted. What more can I say except that it's totally worth the driving and the time to stock up there. Great work, everyone: keep it going!

Richard is lovely, his service is fantastic with the meat fresh and of the highest quality. The service here is outstanding, these guys bent over backwards in delivering my order. I can't thank them enough.
Their price may be slightly higher than some people are used to, however, I believe their prices are competitive given Richard's products are grass fed and chemical free which I feel is evident in the taste and well worth the money. I highly recommend visiting these guys.

The BEST Bacon I've ever tasted! FREE RANGE and locally sourced. Great, consistent quality every time I visit. Reasonable price for it as well.

BUT OH MY GOD THE BACON. Try the Salt Only (Hickory or Wood?)-smoked Breakfast Bacon. Sorry to Pillaigo bacon (which is really quite good compared to supermarket bacon) but I cannot eat any other bacon now I know what Bacon SHOULD look, smell and taste like: Griffith Butchery's Bacon!!
