Cape Moreton Lighthouse

Spectacular views from the top next to the lighthouse. Informative boards on the history of the area around the walking route. Also a nice bit of info on the history of the area. Need a 4WD to get to the lighthouse (as with most places on the island). Definitely worth a visit while you are on Moreton Island!

Cape Moreton lighthouse on Moreton island or Tangalooma is an amazing place to visit.
It’s sits above the rocky coast line of Moreton Island and the nation park so it’s a fantastic spot to see the raw and beautiful nature that surrounds you.
From the lighthouse you can see spectacular beaches and thick bushland but close to shore you can witness large schools of bait fish being rounded up by dolphins and packs of sharks ready for lunch which is fantastic to watch but sort of turns you off swimming in that particular location.
Travelling by 4 wheel drive cars or a 4 wheel drive bus on the beach is a tremendous thrill and just breathtaking.

What a place. If you go to Moreton Island try to visit the lighthouse.
It's a bit of a walk to the top but there are stairs so most people will be able to get up there.
It has a great view down towards the south where you can see most of the island.
The lighthouse is spectacular and is being kept is great condition. It is a great place to see some whales which we were lucky enough to see.

Lovely spot at the north east point of Moreton Island. Has stunning views south of the eastern coastline, as well as the northern beach. Nice well preserved site with information about previous whaling activities in the 60s.

Great views at the top here. Also a nice bit of info on the history of the area. We could watch the whales passing by on their annual migration. Definitely with a visit if you are on Moreton Island

Such a beautiful little museum on the walk up the lighthouse. Amazing history here. Must do while on the island.

A must visit whilst on the island. The information centre here is very interesting.

Nice view from the peak. The 4x4 track leading up to the lighthouse was very rugged but from the carpark there was only a short walk to the lighthouse. There was signs about the history of the lighthouse and you could walk around.

Watching the sunrise over the ocean and whales breeching is one of my favourite things to see. It's such a spectacular lighthouse with so much history.

A lovely view, if not after a bit of walk, being a hill and concrete steps be careful when you walk them and interesting historical notes along the walk around the light house

The best lighthouse of moreton island. Best seen with clear blue skies. Visitor center is well worth a quick visit if you want to learn more on the history of the lighthouse.

It was a great place because from here we were able to see panoramic views

On the day I visited I saw whales, dolphins and a manta ray. The historical context of the place is recognized in the historical centre. A great view!

Moreton Island cannot say enough about this gem Brisbane has just off the coast. And the views from the lighthouse are to behold.

Breathtaking the view was amazing, slight incline from carpark to light house. There's tables and seat to sit and catch your breath and to take the view, fresh air in.
We also seen whales. Take the walk all around the light house , you'll come across a historic plaque.
