Dr James Askew

I had my surgery done by Dr James back in 2018, and I could not be any happier. James and his team made the whole journey a delight. His administration staff, especially/ mainly Kye, helped me keep focused and adjust to my new stomach and the mental game that comes with this surgery. Many a time Kye sat with me on the phone reassuring me. Still to this day 6 years later Dr James and Kye are always there, from the basic follow ups, to saying hi on the street. I could not recommend a better bariatric surgeon and team. Thank you Dr James and Kye.

Official Update - 17th October 2023

So today i went for my 6 month follow up from my surgery and i weighed in at 138.9KG (306lbs) which is a loss of 51KG (111lbs)!!

First of all id like to thank Dr. James Askew he has absolutely given me my life back,

Dr Askew and his awesome team offer weight loss surgery patients a caring and extremely supportive service. James is genuine in wanting to help his patients, carrying out lots of pre-surgery tests to ensure a good outcome on the day of the operation.
If you do everything they tell you to do, you will get your health and life back again.
Follow up visits are very important and quite social whilst in the waiting room, with coffee and everyone swapping stories and tips!
For anyone hesitating, go and have a consultation with James and see for yourself!

"Team Incredible" is the only way to describe Dr Askew and his team. Going through a revision baratric journey is not easy (already feeling like a failure) but I was treated like a real person and heard from day 1 and still am. I cannot fault the level of true caring support and ongoing education about my journey, its fantastic to have a team of angels on your side who are as determined as you are to see you succeed. You have changed my life forever and I cannot thank you enough!

WOW!!! What an amazing team and surgery experience. I was so scared going in for WLS, however, from the moment you walk through the doors for your 1st consultation, you are made to feel completely at ease. From their Practice Manager, to their Dietician and Dr Askew himself. I honestly can not recommend them enough. The aftercare is all bulk billed, they do telehealth/skype sessions so they can stay in touch with their patients who live further away. They even visit you during your hospital stay and bring you a little present bag. It was definitely worth the 1hr drive. I have had no issues at all. If you are sitting on the fence, and scared to take the plunge, do it!! Go and see this amazing team.
