Clutch Those Heels

I am a teacher. I spend 6 hours each day controlling 24 beautiful six and seven year old children. Sometimes I feel like I am working in a zoo rather than in a classroom. I never sit down and some days, I spend more time outside than in. But, I love my job. I am built for it. The only thing I wasn’t built for was the stigma of ‘daggy teacher style’. I like to dress well and feel confident in what I am wearing. When you look for suitable teacher clothes or in this case shoes you need to consider the following; most days you will do at least 6 laps of the wet, muddy school oval on what feels like the longest yard duty ever, you walk from soft grass to hard asphalt, you will step on Lego multiple times a day and some kid will probably drop his paint brush on your beautiful shoes.
This is where my beautiful friends at Clutch Those Heels come in. Now, it helps that Mrs CTH is an experienced teacher, she knows exactly what I look for in a pair of shoes; style, modesty and most importantly, comfort.
Being winter, boots are my best friend, especially on freezing oval duties. I currently have 3 pairs of YSOs (purchased from CTH) on rotation which I can style in an incredible amount of ways. I have a classic black pair which I would wear everyday if the students didn’t notice. They are so comfortable and versatile. I also have a pair of cute taupe booties which fit with pants, tights, skirts and dresses (I’ll admit to wearing these ones year round!) and a long pair of boots the same colour. I find shades of taupe so easy to match with the shades in the clothes I wear. When I dress I tend to go for darker colours to hide stains so my boots often break up black tights or dark pants.
Other than being super stylish, YSO boots are easy to clean and are so easy to wear all day. They are sturdy (helpful when you have to climb up the playground to save a stuck child) and amazingly comfortable.
Shopping at Clutch Those Heels or Endless Boutique is like shopping in a store that has been designed solely for you. All of the attention is on you and your feet. The staff do their best to work out what you need (Crayola-proof leather, please!) and take into account your personal style to find a shoe (or 8, in my case) that works for you. Endless also make great tea and if you are anything like me you didn’t have time for a lazy afternoon tea before you rushed into the store, the service is amazing!
