Loved loved loved our stay here. The property is beautiful & so serene. The view from the back veranda was stunning and perfect for your morning cuppa or afternoon drink. The house was fully equipped and very clean. We will definitely be back.

We booked Kinloch Cottage through Weekenda - i was very impressed with the quick and personal response by Weekenda to my initial queries
As for Kinloch - it was spectacular and exceeded our expectations
We were 2 couples looking for a relaxing weekend in the Hunter - the property is on a large acreage, very private and has been beautifully renovatedbeautifully renovated -

Kinloch Cottage is managed by Weekenda, one of the most poorly run businesses I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with.

Rude and aggressive staff on the phone prior to arrival. On arrival the details that we were given by Weekenda had been unhelpfully updated by the owners and we had the wrong info for wifi. Data and cell reception very poor so wifi is essential at this Air Bnb.

Attempted to light an indoor fire in the slow combustion fire but no provisions of wood or fire starters were there, only a half burnt log despite being told there would be firestarters and wood. Phoned Weekenda to be told that no fires were allowed to be lit until after Easter holidays ???!?!!

Purchased our own wood, kindling and fire starters having to drive to Cessnock to do so, and after being given permission to have a fire indoors at our own cost we did so. I pointed out on numerous occasions that despite only being 2 guests in a house for 6 the $2750 we paid for 3 nights should really include firewood.

The cottage basically backs onto Bimbadgen estate. We had noise from the weddings/events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday night including fireworks on two of these nights. It is not a quiet place.

Finally we were sent a text from Weekenda saying we could have a late check out at midday on the Monday, standard check out 10am. At 945am a man on a large ride on mower started circling the house doing the lawn. Despite a property of acres he chose to circle the property and my car. I had thought the price of the stay would at least mean the property was ours until 10am. The noise from the mower certainly prevented sleep, rest or conversation while he circled the house.

He drove so close to my car that a piece of gravel or similar chipped my car in multiple places. After asking him to stop and saying we had a late check out and it wasn’t even 10am he was very very rude and continued mowing.

After calling Weekenda Natalie advised that the text we received re late check out went out to everyone. It wasn’t special treatment and service people would still be coming to mow, clean the house etc. She did agree that starting prior to 10am was not good but other than that she did nothing.

I would avoid Kinloch cottage as a location for a peaceful retreat. Also the dirt road on the way in is so badly damaged that car wheel alignment may be affected driving on it. We were asked to double lock the gate on each trip in and out of the property, however, in the rain and with the nature of their padlock this was very cumbersome.
