What a surprise this place is!
I had no idea what to expect, however, immediately upon entry, the place is gloriously, homey, rustic, and country!
The menu was thorough, and they had a truffle special period when I went, thus truffle meals were ordered.
Produce is fresh and local, and of the highest quality.
Cold outside warm inside and just a fantastic experience.

Coming from Sydney to visit the area, this is a little gem for a meal.
Dinner time walk in, nice ambience but can be loud if busy.
Service was good, however had to remind to bring water to table (they were quite busy so not an issue!)
Food was a pleasant suprise! Meals large and wholesome - make sure you don't eat prior haha.
Highly recommend, will visit again for lunch or dinner when in the area again.

Great place - a favourite but please please please do something about the flies. On Friday at lunch we were seated at the front against the windows. No fly spray available. I swatted and killed over 20 flies.....could have been more but I was also busy eating the squid.

Arrived without bookings during a busy Easter Sunday lunch and the staff managed to fit us in. Food was on the pricier side but really delicious and we emerged feeling very full. Staff were fantastic and attentive and there is a log fire in the dining room.

Delicious food, great service & a welcoming reception. He had Harissa spiced rolled chicken breast fillets with eggplant, hummus, pita bread for entree & main special of duck breast with pomegranate, duck fat potatoes ++. I had Thai style prawns on betel leaves (yummy) & Tandoori spatchcocks (2) with roti, tiara & lemon. We also shared a serve of steamed veg which was plentiful & fresh. We had two wines from local wineries which complimented our meal. Overall, a delightful experience & as good as many fine dining restaurants we have been to.

Wow, the ribs were the best my wife and I have had in a long time, meat just fell off the bone, the corn ribs were awesome.
Service was brilliant and attentive. Will definitely be back when we are in the area again

Food was exceptional. Large portions and delicious. Schnitzels that covered 3/4 of your plate.

Wonderful staff food and such a relaxed place with a beautiful fit out.

We had a fabulous family lunch at The George, sitting in the Beer Garden on a warm, Summer day.
Our food was absolutely delicious and well presented, and the young lady who brought our food to us was lovely.
My only complaint is the young lady behind the bar who took our Order who looked as though she'd rather be anywhere else in the world than where she was, and could not seem to muster a smile.
But, our food was 10/10 and great value so really 2 out of 3 ain't bad 😉

Gastro pub food with a huge open fire and outdoor kids playground. Expensive but does a decent job of justifying it.

Best Sichuan Chilli Garlic Prawns eva! Other meals also amazing. Well worth it!

This is our second time eating here and the staff are so lovely we had to come back.

This time it was a birthday dinner on a cold and wet winters night and 5 of us had a wonderful time in no small part because of the staff.

Parking is right at the door in a quiet main street.
The tables are well spaced
its not to loud
there is a fireplace to sit by between courses
The wait staff are attentive and keen to assist and we spoke with 5 different staff during the meal.
Even had them check that we were ready to proceed with mains, which is a lovely personal touch.

Meals where presented very well. Enough options on the menu even for fussy kids.

We went overboard this time with the amount food, but wanted to try different things.

We ate from the "Evening and Weekend menu"
If you are open to suggestions start with:

SHAREBOARDS
Tasting Plate salt & pepper squid, Japanese fried chicken, beef cheek rendang, poached pear & 75
prosciutto tart

With 2 people you could just order this and maybe a single main meal to share....
It is well worth its $75 price, particularly if there are 3 or more "sharing"

MAINS
Griddled Grass fed Black Angus 400g Cattleman’s Ribeye on the Bone chips, salad & your choice of sauce

American Style Sticky Pork Ribs chips, salad & onion rings

Best part for me though as contently full as i was after the above, was desert.
I'd mentioned it was birthday and desert came with a candle and a staff member joining in chorus to happy birthday

Vanilla Bean Crème Brulee biscotti plus Candle.

and to top things off my adult brain asked for and received with zero hassle Kids Ice-cream:
2 scoops of vanilla ice-cream
Toppings of your choice: chocolate or strawberry sauce and sprinkles

So content - so full. We laughed and joked all the way home and slept like contented bears in hibernation.

Couldn't ask for more. Food and service was great and the restaurant was nice

The restaurant was worth the tip on 9 Feb23 with friends and my wife for lunch. Meal was Great, the service was spot on and the price was reasonable for this combination! Well done!

Went to dinner on a Friday. Great fresh and thoughtful products, very attentive staff and perfect atmosphere. Overall a highly recommend experience.
