Had a wonderful 3-4 hours and saw some amazing, beautiful animals in a properly spacious environment. It’s definitely a wildlife park and not a zoo. It’s even comparable to Australia Zoo!! Nice food, coffee etc too as well as a decent gift shop. A must visit if you’re around Newcastle!

Had a fantastic afternoon here. This place is great for families and couples with no kids. If you love animals then this is a great place to visit. Take your time walking to each enclosure and enjoy the sunshine and open air.

Highlights were: The feeding ring, the echidnas, kangaroo's, the camels and the meerkats.

Great facilities and plenty of tables and chairs around.

My friend lives in NSW and I was visiting him while on holiday from the USA in June of 2022. He took me to some places that he thought I’d enjoy and one of those places was Oakvale Wildlife Park. I had so much fun there!! There were so many beautiful animals to see and learn about. I was even able to feed and pet kangaroos and I even got to pet a koala! That was the highlight of my trip.

Amazing staff, they sell feeding bags for kids to interact with the animals there. Everything was clean and well organized.

The show was great! We learned how to feed baby goats and milk a cow.

Fantastic for families. Well maintained. Great caffe with good quality food and service. Informative for each of the exhibits was excellent. The Koala inform show was very enjoyable. To be able to walk amongst the Kangaroos was very good. We had family from the UK who loved it. All in all excellent value and well worth the visit. Traveling with the Starrs give it a 5 rating..

Enjoyed a great day out there with our 8 grandkids. Everyone had a good day (adults included). It even has a water play area after a long hot day. It was a great way to cool off b4 we went home. It has a party room, & bbqs. Shaded seating in water park & picnic tables with umbrellas for shade/shelter lol. Pricing is good for what you get. Would definitely recommend. Well done to all their team 👏

Great day out. We drove up from Gosford and it was worth the drive. Staff were all very nice and friendly. The cafe food was reasonably priced. My kids loved bottle feeding the goats. Animals had plenty of space to roam, and seemed happy enough. My kids absolutely loved the splash pad and was great on a 32 degree day. Tractor ride was great. Would definitely recommend. Only downside was some enclosures (koala) etc, had high fences but no little steps or viewing windows for little kids to see them. Apart from that, had a fabulous day and will be coming back for sure.

Loved this place , absolutely fascinating. I never knew I could have Soo much fun with animals and get all up close and personal with them. I could feed the baby lambs and goats and baby cows and Fully Grown Camels 🐪🐪🐪. There were plenty of wild ducks, wallabys and kangaroos who weren't afraid of humans and were happy to be fed and petted. I also milked the cow and it was amazing. The highlight would probably be the tractor ride which I recommend everyone to do at the start of their trip as it gives a full view of the park and what it has to offer. There were also koalas, snakes, alligators, lizards and all you'd expect Australian fauna to offer. My favourite animal was the CAMEL. They are such confident and dominating creatures who are 100% sure that humans will feed them.

We absolutely adored this place!
Super easy to get to and plenty of parking. The park itself is well looked after and has plenty of different animals to see and feed. It was really nice to have the experience of feeding larger animals and getting up close to them. They are all very well looked after and have spacious enclosures. We really enjoyed the croc talk and feed time, super interesting to see them in action and learn about different animals.
I would absolutely go back again!

Oakvale Farm is a delightful blend of wildlife sanctuary and children's park. Beyond the interactive experience of patting and feeding animals, the park features diverse play zones, including a water park tailored for kids. Their on-site restaurant offers a variety of both cold and hot dishes, from sandwiches to burgers, all complemented by coffee brewed from Red Parrot Coffee Beans.

An engaging tractor ride offers a cruisy tour around the park. A standout attraction for me was the Southern Cassowary—a truly captivating and unique bird. With ample free parking available, anticipate spending more time here than initially planned. It's an experience both kids and parents are sure to cherish.

Friendly and informative staff, we went on a weekday so it wasn’t too busy or crowded. It’s a medium sized park so there isn’t too much walking to do but there is still plenty of animals to say hello to. The staff seems passionate about the animals and they seem very well taken care of. We even got to hop on the last tractor ride of the day that takes you around the park and the lady who drove the tractor gave plenty of information and facts about the animals as we drove by. You can feed the animals and purchase food for them $2 a bag which is plenty!

I loved this place so much!!! The animals seem really well taken care of which is just such a joy to see. Pretty expansive area. Amazing opportunity to interact with kangaroos in a free-range sector. The koala sanctuary was quiet but so lovely. And the VARIETY of animals was WILD!! I screamed when I saw the camels. CAMELS GUYS!!!!

This us a really wonderful place to visit for anyone but particularly for families. It just keeps growing and adding new features like the water play area. Was impressed to see the new paths which made for a nice walk around the path. The interaction with the animals is a key feature for enjoyment.

We took our two year old daughter and had a fantastic day out. She particularly enjoyed bottle feeding the goats and hand feeding the kangaroos and so did we! The tractor ride and playgrounds were also fun. Highly recommended. You could spend most of the day there, so bring a picnic and enjoy!

Well Done!! Stunning, thought out enclosures that provide ample space, privacy, and enrichment for every single animal. Everyone seemed to be in amazing condition physically and otherwise. Easy to navigate, ladies' bathroom was immaculate and it was great to see a decent number of keepers/volunteers working!
The staff and management ought to be proud of themselves; Oakvale should the be standard that all animal facilities are held to.

One of the best places to visit if your in Port Stephens or on your way out as a day trip. It works out perfectly if your check out is 10am as the shows start around 10:45am so plenty of time to make it. The grounds are well looked after and the animals look well cared for. Grab a feed bag or two as this will give you more up close and personal attention from the baby farm animals that roam the park and the kangaroos. There is a couple of camels too, which are very friendly. The splash park is an awesome addition to the park. A great place to cool off after walking around and the kids didn’t want to leave. There is a cafe for snacks and sandwiches but they have no problem with you bringing in a packed lunch. Great value for the day and definitely something we would like to experience again. We were here in February just after the school holidays and the crowds just right. Great park, great staff great experience!! They also accept discover vouchers which is a bonus 👍🏽

This place is god damn good. There are lot of animals, especially free Kangaroos that you could feed up. The staff are super polite and very friendly. Kids also enjoy the water games here. No rush, no wait, just an amazing place to visit. Each time we come to on Nelson bay now, we don’t miss this park! Would come again and again!
