Max Muffler & Mechanics

Max and his team are the best around. Max is so honest and his knowledge is astounding. I am always amazed when I drive in as to the range of makes from high end BMW's, 4WD's etc to my little Mazda 3. I have taken my car to Max for about 15 year's and my kid's take theirs as well. I picked mine up yesterday, there is a story as to why it was there but what I picked up yesterday looked like it came out of the showroom. Max you are my champion.

Took my car in with a clutch issue. Max quickly diagnosed it as a master and slave cylinder leak. Instead of immediately ordering a new part, spoke to me and said he’d be able to fix it saving me several hundred dollars. He didn’t even charge me for his labour on fixing the broken part. 2000km later, clutch still going strong. Will be bringing all my cars to Max from now on.

Max is incredible! One of the nicest people I've met, always up for a chat, does fantastic work, and most of all is genuinely honest - a rare trait in mechanics. Multiple times he has quoted work and when the labour didn't take as long, adjusted the price accordingly, even though I would have been none the wiser. I've taken multiple vehicles to Max over more then 10 years and never had a bad experience. He's one of the good guys!

Max's knows cars to a fault, I had no trouble or concerns with my car as I was reassured of what the problem was and how much it would cost. Honestly can say, in this day and age, with this kind ot market. Max did an amazing job at an affordable cost.

He looks after all 3 of my vehicles.

But now I understand why no others hold a candle to Max.

It's not just because of his integrity, even though he's as honest as the day is long.

It's not just because of the care factor he brings to each job.

It's also because he understands the mechanical and electrical technology of the vehicles he services; he understands the way they're engineered, not just because he's a great mechanic, but because he's also a mechanical engineer.

I was being frustrated by the way the auto transmission of my turbo diesel Holden Rodeo (re-badged Isuzu) was high revving and not changing up into the higher gear when the lower load justified it.

I mentioned to Max that problem, but also how well the cruise control continued to engage when under load, long after the cruise controls in my other vehicles disengaged.

Max explained that my using the cruise control in that way under load, was causing the problem I described.

I ceased using the cruise control as Max suggested, and the synergy of engine and automatic transmission is now perfect.

I dread the day Max retires.

This man is a professional, candid, and will help you unconditionally from the bottom of his heart. He is the most authentic, genuine, truthful and kind hearted car mechanic I have literally ever met. As opposed to patch jobs (which is an option)- he knew given my wants & needs what my car needed and did just that. He has even offered to test drive it to be sure it's ok. I will try and catch him soon!

We have been going to Max for over twenty years to have our landcruiser serviced and repairs. You could not get a more professional person. He takes genuine interest in your vehicle, he always calls if there are any problems during the time he has your car, he explains what needs to be done and he is just a genuine nice bloke. Good for a story and a laugh. Our daughters go to Max as well and we are confident he maintains their car to a high safety standard as well.

The high reviews pulled me into using Max’s mechanics to service my car and they did not disappoint. Very honest, reliable service and will definitely be back for all my future needs. Many thanks to Max and crew!

I have taken my Holden commodore to max since no other mechanic could find out why my car was shaking badly, Max found the problem and fixed it ,I can’t praise him enough,He is very knowledgeable and highly professional in his work,It’s easy to take advantage of being a women not knowing any thing about mechanical problems but max for very fair and honest with me,I will keep him as my mechanic for any future problems with my car,Very friendly His pricing is much cheaper then other mechanics iv been too,Max has done a fantastic job on my car and I would recommend him to any one with out hesitations,Thanks Max,,,

Took my jeep in as the engine light had come on. Max and I discussed what the issue may be, he reset to turn off engine light and advise to come back if it turns back on. If the issue was a legitimate problem we d know by this same light reappearing. Max refused any payments for this service which some places charge for.
The light has come back, and I m returning for a quote. It can be very difficult to find a mechanic to assist a female in these matters, but Max was very good and explained all processes too me.

I have had several Toyota's and have relied upon Max's services for close to 15 years or more. He is honest, up-front and always tells it like it is. He does his best to keep your costs down and never tries to do additional unnecessary busy work to jack up the price, which I have had from other mechanics. I recommend this place 1000%, best service around. I have to mention Max himself is a bloody legend 😊 Always friendly, always understanding.

Let me share my experience with Max. I have personally never found another mechanic as honest as Max. After he completed work on my vehicle he showed me all the work he had done and asked me if I could come back so he can check how my engine is doing post repairs. Max did an unbelievably good job with keeping my costs down as he strives to give you the best price. He quoted me when I dropped off the car and when I picked it up he said it was even cheaper than what he said previously which completely blew my mind away. I will definitely be coming back to Max for any of my mechanical needs. Highly recommend this place!

I would like to highly recommend Max for outstanding service and prompt response to my query through Autoguru. He was the only mechanic to respond and on a Sunday evening as well! Max inspected the vehicle on Monday morning, clearly explaining the process required to fix a passenger mirror. An hour later he advised that the part was available as well as the cost. The repair was completed the next day on Tuesday morning to our great satisfaction. Max was most professional and provided a fantastic service. Thank you so much Max.

I am a retired Mechanical Engineer and I found this person (manager) Super friendly and highly professional, due to his many years in the Auto industry, I would recommend this person without hesitation, his pricing is also much cheaper than other mechanics on all fronts and is totally negotiable if required, he is also flexible and reliable with his booking times to suit the customer, I feel that I have found the perfect company for all my mechanical needs.

This is my 2nd service with Max and he's always honest, fair and so reasonably priced!
He doesn't treat you like an idiot like some mechanics do. He explains absolutely everything and is will to help you adjust the service to your budget by delaying something if need be to help

I went to Max Mufflers, Northgate today for the first time.
I'm so happy I did, I had my 80k service ( more like 87k ) and my timing belt changed. I found Mathias to be a gentleman, honest and knowledgeable. My car feels great to drive again and the price for such awesome service was more than comparable. I have found my new favorite mechanic and I'm not going anywhere else, thank you :-)
