Bostock Reservoir Picnic Ground

Beautiful reservoir located in Ballan approximately an hour and a half from Melbourne. Ample car parking and decent size clean toilets. Things to do are walking the dogs, yes pet friendly park, bike riding (have not tried but just seen some) fishing but didn’t caught any, bbq stands and covered picnic tables. Big forest that you can walk through and find huge trees and very green area. No water sports allowed except for fishing. Good to hang around with groups or family to spend the day.

This is a perfect spot for a picnic, a Sunday stroll around the reservoir or a walk amongst the pine trees, it's usually pretty quiet and peaceful, they have good bbq amenities, clean toilets and plenty if parking.

Nice mystical place, surrounded by black forest. Came here with kids who loved it. Nice barbecue spots and few under cover sitting areas. Not far from the twon. There is a camp ground close by on the other side of this area. Will visit that soon as well.

Wasn't a lot of signage to find it, down a bitumen road that will then become a dirt road.

Such an amazing and peaceful place to enjoy near lake and also BBQ area with lots of sitting places and you can even do fishing.

Beautiful place. Great for a picnic with the family however I went to ride the nearby MTB trails.

Loved this place. The photos and stuff on google don't do it justice. Not only does it have a tonne of interesting nooks and crannies to explore, it has gorgeous scenery, some beautiful water that is mega fun to swim in, convenient tables and chairs, gas BBQs aplenty, mysterious pine plantations, heaps of parking and isn't overcrowded. You aren't allowed to light a fire which is pretty lame but apart from that I couldn't recommend it enough. Awesome spot! Only one thing is that the toilets have the gritty soap designed to take grease off your hands which is a bit odd.

Serene experience. Nice and quiet. Perfect picnic spot. Approx 7 mins from Ballan through gravel road. Ample parking. Toilets available.

Definitely go back. There are many things to do there, fishing, BBQ, bikeriding, bush walk....plenty of carpark, and there's a public toilet.

Family friendly, great walking tracks and picnic grounds. Always clean and well maintained.
