Bellbowrie Community Church

Amazing church, have met so many great friends there. they really care about the community
the youth group is amazing.

Clearly a church that courageously stands up for the truth in a non-judgemental, loving way (see recent Courier-Mail article for the evidence of this).

On the other hand, this church has become the target of hateful comments from those voting "Yes" for same-sex marriage, accusing the church of being hateful.

No-one should be surprised, shocked or offended that a Christian church stands up for its beliefs. And yet that is what has been expressed. There is zero evidence of any uncaring actions or attitudes of this church or its pastor, but rather a clear statement of belief in Biblical principles and Christian love.

I have never been to this church but I like how they stood up for God during the gay marriage debate. Clearly the people leaving bad reviews don't understand the Bible. Just because somebody is against a person's sin, it doesn't mean they hate the person. I am sure everybody leaving bad reviews has disagreed with someone else's actions before but that didn't make you hate the person did it???

This place is my home away from home. I have met so many lovely people here and made so many wonderful friends.

It has a FANTASTIC kids program that is very well patronised.

Amazing community feel and they are very involved in outreach into the local Bellbowrie/Moggill community, as well.

Bellbowrie Community Church is extremely welcoming and a lovely family to be apart of. They also have great youth and young adults bible studies available!

A beautiful little church. Great to see they take pride in all they do.

THIS church stands up for its beliefs boldly and biblically. Well done church.

this church used to give me free yoghurts as a kid but now they like to perform exorcisms and scream that God is coming to save your soul from the devil.

I started going just before Easter. Had no real problems (I was staying in the closet due to not really having the confidence to correct people when they thought I was a girl).

But as time went on, I felt more and more like I was alone in the church. I felt like I wasn't truly being myself and was hiding a lot of what makes me, me. Like hiding my identity as a guy and as a gay person.

I didn't know about 2017 before, so when I heard about it, I felt shocked needless to say. I had experienced quite a bit of the 'accepting' none acceptance.

I found the meeting I had with the Pastor not really focusing on religion and more about me as a person. Furthermore, I could tell he was definitely someone who was worried about the detransitioners. Studies have found the highest rate of detransition (for any period of time or reason) was 8%. The lowest being 0.47%. Top surgery has remarkably one of the lowest regret rates, being at around 1%. Which is lower than even hip or knee replacement surgeries.

He was made the classic argument that I was too young to know what I wanted. This is something that looking back annoys me. It's oh so classic, and by that logic no one should go through puberty till they're like 25 cause puberty is a life altering decision and what if they don't want that?

Anyway, plenty of lovely people, but I can't tell how many will actually refer to you correctly if you aren't cis.

I had always admired this church that clearly takes pride in itself as I drove into my community at Bellbowrie each night. That was until I saw the bigoted sign saying that marriage was designed for men and women only. God created everyone as they are. You however have decided that you don't what gay people to be equal. In 2017 surely Jesus would include the gay amongst the meek the poor as worthy parts of the plan.
But, like so many Christian institutions you have shown your church to be another fraud that speaks of compassion yet has none. That talks of equality yet lords yourself over others. That lifts people up yet when it comes to the crunch prefers to grind them down. All to grip on your waning status and relevance.
I thought I lived in an inclusive community. I am disgusted that I have to drive past this depraved gatekeeper every night.
Hopefully a yes vote will make you see the light.

Very upset and disappointed that this "community" group have decided to display a large, homophobic sign on a busy road in my town. They preach about love and respect, but obviously words are cheap, as their actions indicate the exact opposite. A great example of how not to be a Christian.

The message on your sign regarding marriage only being designed by god to be between a man and a woman is counter productive to love and is aimed to divide a community, not unite it.

Hateful and untrue sign out the front is a blight on the community. I would give zero stars, but that's not an option, so it's a one from me

A church built on hate and bigotry. Avoid this antiquated dump at any cost.
