Wallagaraugh River Caravan Park

Wilderness camping with a flushing loo, hot showers & generator power . The bonus is no phone reception, however when I needed to make a call I was offered the office phone.

The sites are large & cleared

Great place to get away from it all and do some camping and fishing. We went in winter so although it was a bit cold and windy, the benefits were that we could have a raging campfire and there were no flies or mozzies to bother us. The cabins were great, with a fridge and sink and a toilet in each. Cabin 8 is bigger and has a shower (but no outside light like the other cabins). Power is by generator and battery only so leave the hairdryers at home. No mobile reception to speak of, but you might get one bar of 3G if you stand in the right spot.

We were there over the weekend for 4 nights and loved every minute of it. The location is stunning, right on the river and if you have a small boat you can literally tie it up next to where your camping.

The people who run the site are very friendly and extremely helpful too. Helping us out with fire wood and two stroke oil for my boat at no extra charge, which was hugely appreciated by us.

The amenities in the campsite are older but are more than suitable and for me at least adds to the character of the place.

It’s about 40 minutes drive from Mallacoota by car and I would probably say the same for boat. So make sure you have everything you need before getting there.

We will definitely be back and looking forward to it already!

We recently spent 4 nights here and absolutely loved it.

A 10 minute drive off the highway and we were there.

HUGE sites.
No boundaries that we had to adhere to.
Clean toilets and showers.
Right on the inlet.
Lovely owners.
And a beautiful cockatoo who flirted with me.

For those wanting high end facilities - don’t come here.

If you are after a chilled, simple atmosphere where you are self sufficient, this is your place.

We loved it and will return.

Stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed it! First night we almost had the place to ourselves which was awesome. My 11 year old daughter was blown away by the stars. basic facilities but more than sufficient for a "bush camp". Joe (the manager) is a real Aussie character....... friendly, funny, informative and very helpful!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Stayed for a week, lost all my built up stress. To wake up with sunrise over the river was like in paradise. Loved the bush walks. The people in the park were super friendly....What a great week!!

The location on it's own is 5 stars, what else do you need ?

Si vous voulez de l'authentique, du rustique, du calme loin de tout ... Je vous conseille cet endroit au bord de la rivière ! Les pêcheurs seront comblés, les promeneurs y trouveront leur compte et les autres auront le calme et la sérénité ... Dans une grande forêt d'eucalyptus sans WiFi sans téléphone sans boutique dans des cabanons qui offrent le confort minimum mais suffisant ... Idéal pour se ressourcer avec en prime le super accueil et service de David le propriétaire. Attention 8 kilomètres de routes non pavées pour accéder à cet endroit de paix.
