This is Canberra's best hidden gem. Unassuming but amazing
- don't let the location fool you; it's what hidden gems are truly about. Don't talk about being a Canberra foodie unless you've been here. But not only for the foodies - anyone who wants a special meal out, for any occasion. I've eaten at all of Chef Thomas' ventures to date - Table at Wanniassa, Grill at Wanniassa, Table at Majura, Grill at Tuggeranong - all great, but this is one of the best.

There aren't many places in Canberra where you will genuinely be 'wowed' by the food, but without the pretensions that come with fine dining. Chef Thomas brings a real warmth and intimacy to not only the food but the experience. You'll be welcomed whether you're alone, with a loved one, doing a business lunch, or celebrating a special occasion. He not only knows his stuff (check out his credentials online), but delivers with personability and care for all his diners. There's always a surprise or two, as well.

Try it once - you won't regret it. Get in before it becomes over-run by foodies travelling down from the North (or even Sydney)! We are lucky to have this in our backyard.

My wife and I dined at Table by Canberra to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We booked ahead and selected the ‘special occasion’ drop-down option, so on arrival we were given a card and discount voucher for a future visit on arrival. A nice touch to start the evening. Then followed ten courses in the degustation menu, with an optional extra oyster course. They were all interesting and delicious, and included many flavours we hadn’t tasted before. The ingredients of each course were explained to us when they arrived at the table. The hardest part was we were asked our favourite dish, or which we preferred between two at a similar stage of the meal. How do you answer that – they were all lovely. Don’t be fooled by the unassuming street location. Once you are inside it is pleasantly laid out and comfortable. Of course, the restaurant is fine dining, so expect the food prices to reflect this. The wine prices are reasonable, both per bottle or per glass, and a lot less than some other fine dining establishments we have been to. The whole experience is well worth it for a special occasion or just to treat yourself. We will dine there again.

Wow! I dined with a group of friends last night at Table, we were spoilt from the moment we walked in. Our group have wined and dined around the world, sampling some of the best gourmet offerings, yet this Table experience satisfied us all! World class Table! Thank you Chef! thank you staff! How do you do it for the price? Can't wait to see the Michelin stars ✨.

A gem not to be missed! 17 courses on the night I went. Food executed very well, with a unique ambiance on the truffle farm. No corkage if you choose to bring your own wine. Came as a stranger and left with new friends at the shared dining table. Would strongly recommend this fantastic experience.

Table by Canberra Gourmet were magnificent hosts for the ACT Branch of The Scotch Malt Whisky Society tasting dinner. Wow! Just brilliant. Chef Thomas Heinrich and his cheerful team gave us a sublime flavour experience, with degustation dishes that had been carefully matched with the flavour profiles and tasting notes for the whiskies we enjoyed. I expected great things based on my previous experiences there, yet the SMWS members attending and myself were just blown away with the clever harmonised flavour combinations and textures, aromas, presentation - it was our best food and whisky tasting experience for years! The team's efforts to bring exceptional new experiences to us were magnificent. I also appreciate them adjusting the room layout to give us an immersive convivial group experience, top atmosphere and setting for our Cellarmaster's Grand Tour of Speyside tasting and presentation. I think we tweaked Thomas' interests in some stellar drams. Anyway we agree you deserve a huge Well Done and Thank You for our fantastic night and culinary adventures. Drew - ACT Branch SMWS

Best service I've had in a restaurant for a long time - courteous and attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable, thoughtful (asked if we'd like to move further away from the kitchen noise), and respectful. 7-course degustation with matching wines was worth every cent - I could LIVE OFF the agnoletti in truffle broth for the rest of my life! Wine slushy, half-time orange, crab in shell, best pork belly EVER and perfectly cooked lamb fillet were highlights but the whole meal was joyous and delicious. They even gave a me birthday card! ($50 off for next time!!!!) Only slight negative was the low level lighting - very hard to see what you're eating at times. Sincerely recommended - and a nice surprise to find such fine dining in Tuggeranong.

We went to Table as a family to celebrate my son's graduation. The meal was fabulous and better than most other fine dining restaurants in Canberra. We had the degustation menu, and each course was a taste sensation. The service was very attentive, it was great to talk to the chef at the end of the meal, and we had an excellent evening. For those who have read the negative review, the person obviously had an ulterior motive because it is not remotely reflective of our experience. I can't wait to hear their review of the Alexander McConachie centre cafeteria when spreading false information on social media becomes a criminal offence.
All in all, I would highly recommend Table for those who love fabulous food, and even though most people wouldn't considered Tuggeranong a hub for fine dining, I believe it to be in the top 5 restaurants within Canberra.
Note that the address is Scollay Street, but the building is on the corner and the understated entrance is on Reed Street.

This was a return visit for us, with valued friends for a great celebration. We picked the coldest bleakest windiest freezing night and enjoyed the warmest, most convivial and pleasurable degustation dining experience. It was tremendous at every stage; such care had gone into providing exquisite flavours and textural contrasts, brilliant presentation, excitement in every plate. We saw such pride and enthusiasm in the faces of staff, attentive engagement and dialogue. It was a busy night yet service was well paced, never rushed nor lagging. Culinary highlights? Amazing flavours in mushroom agnolotti in shiitake broth with pepper oil. Best kangaroo ever! Yuzu prawns and pepper berry so exciting. Much flavourful fun with the orange surprise! We had a great wine progression, not paired wines, a local voignier, WA semillon, local graciano, well harmonised. For our friends, first time adventurers, their reactions were... ...wow! Exceptional experience. So that made our celebrations all the better. Thanks to Chef Thomas and all the wonderful staff.

Fine dining at its finest.

We had the chefs tasting menu. I'm not going to tell you how amazing it was. I would just encourage you to try it for yourself.
The ambiance was exemplary.
Special callout to the wait staff, who were superlative.
An experience so remarkable that I spent time with a dictionary and thesaurus before writing this review.
If you are Gen Z or later, it was amazeballs.

We had a slow Saturday lunch, hosted by Ella, with chef Thomas working flavour magic. We relished the exciting flavours, clever combinations, gorgeous presentation, with a crisp local Viognier wine. Every course was delectable, from the yuzu prawn pepper berry entree to the unctious umami mushroom agnolotti and shitake broth, the rich smoky deliciousness of duck with parsnip and tuscan kale, all finished with sumptious chocolate bonbons. So much thought and creativity was evident in this superb degustation experience - much to be proud of. Table by Canberra Gourmet is a hidden jewel. We look forward to returning with friends for more flavour adventures.

The go-to place for a special occasion meal. We had the dégustation meal. Each course was like a work of art. It is a small private restaurant owned by the chef. Staff provided very personal service and it was great to talk with the chef about his choice of ingredients. Wine is available to match each course. We chose to BYO as we had our own special wine and this worked fine.

We're certainly very lucky to have such amazing food right on our doorstep in Tuggeranong.
Every dish in the degustation was impeccable in both presentation and taste. The waitress was friendly and polite and the chef came to our table to chat.
Overall it was a brilliant experience, we will be back again.

This is an absolutely amazing restaurant. Finding this place in Greenway (Tuggeranong) is a real bonus. It's high end food with amazing flavours and presentation. It's the best restaurant in Canberra that I've been to. Worth every cent. The service was lovely and the pairing wines worked really well. A super experience in every way for a suburb not known for such delightful food, drink, and service.

Fabulous 18 course degustation experience. A sensory feast for the eyes and the palate. Each dish a work of art, beautifully presented promising amazing flavours and textures. The promise is fulfilled in spades. Each dish is served and described at the table giving plenty of time to appreciate the beauty of each course. I really can't fault the evening. It was truly wonderful. I'm definitely looking forward to going back and seeing what new delights are on offer. Thank you, very much for a very memorable evening.
