Combat Defence Systems

My son has attended Combat Defence Systems for many years starting from the kids class then transitioning to adult class. As a parent, I will say that I’m forever grateful for the formation that my son has received for being a member of this family. Not only on his physical ability but most importantly on discipline, respect, and to be a responsible member of the community. This I’m definitely sure he’ll carry on all the rest of his life. I highly recommend this organisation to everyone and it is a valuable investment.

Highly recommend CDS. The trainers are very knowledgeable, in tune with their environment and have done an amazing job teaching my child Muay Thai. My child has come out of it with very high levels of confidence and ability. I could not have asked for a better experience.

I've tried the trial classes for Muay Thai, Kali and combat submission wrestling.

The community is great, very welcoming and friendly. All the students showed respect toward one another and were willing to teach and help me(newbie) during the classes. Gino was also very accommodating in rescheduling my trial classes.

Gym equipment was plentiful and routinely cleaned. Training areas were spacious and new.

The instructors were incredibly knowledgeable and approachable, giving many practical techniques and concepts that translate well into fighting and self defence.

Overall it is a great place, highly recommended.

If you're looking for a great place to train, and a wonderful community to be a part of, then CDS is the place for you. Gino and his amazing team have created a wonderful, inclusive environment that enables all members to grow their skills in a fun and engaging manner. Have my kids doing Junior Muay Thai at CDS. Would recommend to anyone. Great program, really well run. Gino and the crew are very knowledgeable and skilled instructors. 5 stars for sure.

Great facility, its always clean and the equipment is up to date. The classes are well structured and it's evident that all of the instructors at CDS are highly skilled and take pride in what they do. My daughter loves training and it has been so rewarding watching her progress

Small, clean with amazing staff. Keeping groups limited makes it easier for kids to learn and get the attention they need.

My son has trained there for more than a year and the confidence he has developed is outstanding. It has been recognised by his teachers as they often asked what has changed for him to come out of his shell. He enjoys the environment at CDS and is learning a lot of valuable lessons that will serve him well through out life. One of those values is as a 15 year old he is learning to communicate with peers and adults with the guidance of Gino and the other instructors.

CDS is the only martial arts gym in WA that is certified under Guru Dan Inosanto, so it is no surprise that the instructors are extremely knowledgeable and professional. The environment is very welcoming and people of all abilities cain be seen taking part in the classes. There is no sense of ego or competition that can sometimes be found in other martial arts gyms. The gym itself is immaculate in terms of cleanliness. Overall it is a wonderful family friendly martial arts club that is suitable for people of all ages and abilities :)

Our son - 4 years old - loves coming to CDS! He has a lot of energy and we have been looking for somewhere for him to direct it...he doesn't get in to ball sports but he loves CDS and He always has so much fun. The teachers are great with the kids, they build a great rapport with each child. We would definitely recommend CDS to others

My Son has been training here since the age of 6 and loves all of the classes. He is able to learn in a fun, friendly and safe environment with instructors who are always there to help. It has also helped him become more confident and make a good group of friends.

I never thought I'd get back into martial arts, but I'm glad I did and went to CDS. The place is awesome, wide spacious area, facilities are neat and tidy and constantly get cleaned everyday.
Instructors are also great with their fun and innovative ways when it comes to their teaching, really great for everyone kids and adult. They also have ample amount of attention to their students, to comprehend all the techniques and drills, whether you dont have knowledge to the art or have done some before... you'll be easy to pick it up, thanks to awesome instructors.
As you walk in you can the feel the energy and passion every members they put in every class, whether pushing themselves to the limit in Muay Thai, discovering the philosophies of Bruce lee in JKD, sharpening their skills in KALI, or SILAT and rolling through the intricate ways of no Gi bjj/CSW. The efforts are unbelievable.
CDS is an absolute gem in Perth, for those people who are willing to learn or getting back into martial arts... plenty of ways and styles to explore, its a must have experience. (to try at least.)

The instructors are very knowledgeable and the gym prides itself on having a welcoming and family friendly atmosphere. Not only does CDS teach the true "way of the intercepting fist" with the only instructors in WA certified to teach JKD by Dan Inosanto (Bruce Lee's training partner and friend) but it also embraces the values of martial arts teaching discipline, self-control and respect. I've been training at CDS for over 5 years and would recommend it to anyone looking to learn self defense based mixed martial arts, build confidence or even just wanting to get fit and meet some friendly like-minded people.

Joined CDS in January this year. Sifu Gino and the instructors are very knowledgeable, friendly and patient with clear instructions which makes learning easier! Everyone at CDS have been very welcoming! Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to try martial arts!

Truly a great place to learn martial arts. The atmosphere is fantastic, people at the club are wonderful to train with, and instructors Gino and James are very knowledgeable, teaching self-defence concepts and not just technique. Highly recommended!

Just went for a trial sessions for JKD. I was so very impressed by the knowledge and skill of all instructors that made me feel very welcomed in a non-pushy, no ego way that you see in other dojos. It was such a fun JKD session learning some traps and simultaneous attack.

A big thank you to Gino, Josh, James and Charlie for offering their professional guidance at the class. Especially Josh who was a patient and very effective coach, thanks brother.

The dojo is extremely well equipped and clean and the professionalism is the just the best ever - five stars!

I had tried out multiple of the Muay Thai gyms around Perth, yet none of them compared to Combat Defence Systems. They are exceptionally diligent in ensuring good technique regardless of your experience, they creatively combine Muay Thai trining with fitness but most of all the trainers, owner and students create an amazing atmosphere to train in. It is a welcoming, friendly, respectful, encouraging environment to train and learn! Would definitely recommend!!
