Off The Rails Creative Landscaping

Dylan and his team were a pleasure to work with. The project evolved during the course of building our new cottage and Dylan‘s flexibility combined with creativity made for a painless process. He was open to an exposed aggregate path in addition to basalt stepping stones and also accepted the challenge to build a post&rail fence which became a feature of the landscaping. Highly recommended!!

The job at hand: Remove a fence on top of an existing retaining wall (approx 12m long, 1.2m high), both leaning over dangerously, and replace with a new wall and fence, where on the low side the surrounding brickwork of the pool is bordering the wall, with as little interference as possible on the neighbors ground, high side. The high side has a 'wall' of boulders as support. No access for machinery through the gardens or from the outside.
The execution: airlift a small excavator via crane over slopes and hedges to the high side, machine/hand-remove the fence/wall and the earth between the old wall and the boulders without damaging the brickwork around the pool. Find suitable post locations considering standard concrete sleeper length, without causing instability due to big boulder movement in the ground on the existing structure, install a fence on top of the new wall, fix minor damage to the lawn on the neighbors side, finished.
It was a difficult job, the team worked hard, we had interruption due to rain, the damage done to the ground was minimal, no damage to the pool or surroundings. The result is a solid good looking wall and fence.
It was not cheap, but considering the circumstances, lack of access and existing structures, it was all worthwhile and reasonable.
I can recommend Dylan anytime and would ask for his services again.

Dylan and his Team at Off the Rails Creative Landscaping were excellent to work with. From my initial consultations with Dylan brainstorming ideas to the execution of building of 3 meets high and over 30 meters long of retaining walls I have felt confident with his work and the team he brought with him to get the job done rain or shine. And it was mostly rain but they never missed a day.

They walls are excellent and the work on making a beautiful lawn and some hardwood feature steps are professionally executed. The steps were a figment of my imagination Dylan and Tristan were able to realise by just discussing them with me. Dylan spent time away from the job doing research and sending it through for my consideration to get the results that I was after. I plan on having them back for stage two building my edible gardens later in the year.

I was so happy to have such a hard working team who were also all so nice to have around. For anyone considering these guys for a job They worked in pouring rain in the stickiest red clay to get the job done. And before they went home they washed all the mud from my decks. Oh and the walls look even better than expected. Thanks Off the rails team
